Box Score 2 CHICO—The Warriors had a rough start to their day when the Wildcats, Brooke Larson, threw a one-hitter against the team. Larson struck out nine and brought her record to 16-4 in game one. Overall, the Warriors went 0-2 on Saturday and 1-3 through the entire series.
Maya Yoshiura went 1-3 in game one to bring in the only hit for the Warriors in the seventh inning after she singled to right field.
The Warriors are now 18-29 overall and 11-21 in conference. The Wildcats are now 26-12 overall and 20-10 in the CCAA.
The Warriors lost game one 0-6 and game two 2-5.
Sydnee Machado did well in the nightcap going 2 for 3 with one RBI.
Maya Yoshiura went 1 for 3 with one run. Yoshiura hit a double to left center in the second to get the first hit of the game.
Melissa Spencer went 1 for 3 with an RBI. The other run was scored by
Kayla Fajardo in the third when Spencer singled up the middle.
Kylie Ragsdale pitched six and only walked one. She went 1 for 3 for game two.
The Warriors had five hits and two RBI in game two. Chico State had seven hits and three RBI.
Naomi Monahan earned the win for the Wildcats pitching seven innings and only allowing two earned runs and five hits. Monahan struck out two.
Overall Chico State had 15 hits on Saturday. In game two, Bailey Akins went 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI. Angel Lopez went 1 for 1 with two RBI and a double. Reilani Atkins went 1 for 3 with a run and Ari Marsh also went 1 for 3.
The Warriors will be home on Thursday, April 18, to take on Humboldt State in their last home series starting at 3 p.m.
