LOUISVILLE, Ky.---Stan State softball junior catcher/shortstop Katelyn Bridgeman earned postseason recognition as she was named to the 2026 NFCA Division II All-West Region Second Team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The NFCA All-Region teams are voted on by the head coaches in the West Region, which is comprised of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), and Pacific West Conference (PacWest).

Bridgeman became the first Warrior to earn NFCA All-Region honors since Mikaela Ferreira was named to the First Team in 2024 and is the latest standout in the program's all-time list of NFCA All-Region honorees.  Bridgeman added the all-region honor after also earning All-CCAA First Team recognition during the 2026 season.

For the season, Bridgeman played in all 46 games and hit .409 with 61 hits, 36 runs scored, and 28 RBIs, including 13 doubles, one triple, and three home runs, while posting a .448 on-base percentage and a .570 slugging percentage. She recorded 18 multiple-hit games, including six three-hit games, and was a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases.

The Warrior catcher ranked fourth in the CCAA in batting average and ninth in both hits and on-base percentage. Defensively, Bridgeman recorded 132 putouts and 65 assists with a .970 fielding percentage.
Bridgeman was one of 14 student-athletes selected to the NFCA Division II All-West Region Second Team and one of just two catchers recognized among the West Region honorees.

She earned FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player of the Week honors for the  week of April 13-19 after leading the Warriors to a 3-1 CCAA series win over Cal State Monterey Bay, marking Stan State's first series victory over the Otters since 2022. During the four-game series, she hit .667 (8-for-12) with three doubles, a home run, five RBI, and seven runs scored while posting a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage. She reached base in all four games and recorded multiple hits in three contests, highlighted by a 3-for-3, three-RBI performance in the series-opening 10-9 victory, including a two-run home run while also scoring the eventual game-winning run.  Defensively during the series, Bridgeman totaled 13 assists and nine putouts while posting a perfect fielding percentage in the final two contests. She also went a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts.

The Tracy, Calif., native was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the Stan State Invitational while earning All-Tournament Team honors at both the D2 West Coast Challenge and the NorCal Crossover.

Under the guidance of head coach Aja Scheuber, Stan State finished the 2026 season with a 21-25 overall record.
