Hoy scores twice, No. 17 Warriors get their groove back as they shutout Toros

CARSON – The Toros put up a fight against the Warriors but Stan State couldn't be stopped when Skyler Hoy scored twice in the second half. The Warriors shutout the Toros for their second conference game of the season bringing their CCAA record to 1-1-0. The Warriors overall record is now 6-1-0.
 
The Toros fall to 0-2-0 in the CCAA and 1-5-1 overall.
 
GOALS
  • In the 14th minute, Taylor Marti scored a goal out of low right with assists from Sadie Ortiz and Ilena Rivera.
  • Skyler Hoy scored in the 73rd minute with an assist from Ilena Rivera; her second assist of the game.
  • The Warriors scored their third goal in the 75th minute to make the score 3-0. Hoy scored her second goal of the game with an assist from Jenna Zuniga. This is Zuniga's first assist of the season.
 
GOALKEEPER NOTES
  • Alyssa Herrman had three saves in Sunday's game.
  • With no return score for the Toros, this is Herrman's fifth shutout of the 2019 season.
  • Herrman faced a total of 13 shots, and kept the Toros at zero as she played incredible defense.

NOTEWORTHY
  • After today's win, the Warriors and the Toros are 7-19-0 since they first played in October 1998. The last time the two teams met, the Warriors defeated to the Toros, 1-0. 
  • The Warriors significantly outshot the Toros, 23-13.
  • Hoy now leads the team with four goals.
