TURLOCK — In yet another tight game against Cal State East Bay, the Warriors found ways to spread the offense around to beat the Pioneers, 82-78, Saturday night.
Five Warriors scored in double digits for the second time this month as Stan State improved to 13-6 overall and 9-5 in California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Stan State rebounded from the worst shooting night on Thursday and had one of its best nights of the season.

Darius Scott, normally a starter but missed the last game with a flu, came off the bench to play 31 minutes to lead the team with 17 points. He was 3 of 6 from the three-point arc and made 6 of 7 free throws. He also had four assists.

Vida Faniel scored 15 points on 5 of 10 shooting with one three-pointer. He also made four free throws. He also led the team with six rebounds.

Ty Davis and
Fred Lavender each scored 14 points. Davis had four assists.

Xavier Francois scored 12 points.
• Five Warriors also went double figures in a win at Humboldt State on Jan. 4.

Hot Shooting Night
• Stanislaus State 54.7 percent from the floor — the third best shooting percentage this season. This came after shooting a season-low 31.7 percent Thursday night.
• In fact, every Warrior who made a basketball Saturday night shot better than 50 percent.
• The Warriors also made 10 of 23 three-point tries for 43.5 percent, the second best tally this season.

• The Warriors led by nine points after a
Darius Scott triple (9:35 left) and again after a
Vida Faniel trey (7:38), but CSEUB keeps making it close.
• A 12-2 run, started by back-to-back three's, gave the Pioneers a brief 70-69 lead.

Another Close Game
• The last time the Warriors faced Cal State East Bay was on Dec. 22 in Hayward. Stan State won 59-58.
• The meeting before that was a 69-62 overtime loss in Turlock on Jan. 26, 2019.
• The first meeting in 2019 was a CSUEB four-point, 63-59 win.
CCAA Standings Watch
• The Warriors remain in fifth place, but is just a 1/2 game behind Cal Poly Pomona (9-4).
• Stan State has created a little bit of breathing room, now leading sixth place Cal State East Bay (7-7) by two games.
