Ty Davis became Stan State's All-time leader in career assists and the Warriors held off SF State in the end to snag a 81-79 win over the Gators Saturday night.
The Warriors made it a 2-0 week to improve to 15-10 overall and 11-9 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Stanislaus State has secured a CCAA tournament berth and can finish no-worst than No. 8 in the standings.

Ty Davis earned seven assists and scored 17 points. He also had three steals and a blocked shot.

Vida Faniel scored 18 points to lead the Stanislaus scoring.

Xavier Francois added in 13 points.

Fred Lavender netted 9 points with team-high five rebounds.
DAVIS THE ASSIST LEADER

Ty Davis needs six assists to tie the Stan Sate record for assists in a career, and he got seven Saturday night. With 379 assists, he surpassed Brian Barnett who had 378 from 1997 to 2000.
• Davis' seventh assist came on an important three-point basket made by
Luis Salgado with 1:03 left to play. The trey slowed down SF State's comeback as the Gators had cut the Warrior lead to two points on a Sean Orr three-pointer.
HOLDING OFF A GATOR COMEBACK
• A
Vida Faniel three-pointer at 15:14 gave the Warriors a 47-38 lead, but the Gators used a 9-1 run to pull within one at 48-47.
• Stan State had led by as many as 11 points late in the first half.
SF STATE HAD THREE CHANCES IN FINAL SECONDS
• After a pair of free throws to give the Warriors the 81-79 lead, SF State took three shots in the final seconds.
• First a missed three-pointer by Linton Acliese with three seconds left. Then, Jase Wickliffe missed a put-back.
• Wickliffe's final attempt was blocked by
Luis Salgado to end the game.
CCAA STANDINGS UPDATE
• The Warriors (11-9 CCAA) remains in sixth place behind Cal State East Bay (10-8) with two games left to play. Cal State East Bay has four games remaining.
• Stanislaus State have secured a CCAA tournament berth and can finish no-worst than No. 8 in the standings.
