LA JOLLA –The Warriors had a hard day hitting against the Tritons as UC San Diego took off in the second game with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game early. The Warriors scored three runs over the day and fell to the Tritons in both games, ending the series 1-3.
The Warriors lost in game one on Friday, 2-5 and ended the second game in a five inning 1-10 loss.
Stanislaus State is now 6-11 overall with a 5-7 CCAA record. The Tritons are 16-5 overall and succeed to 7-5 in the CCAA.
TOP PLAYERS OF THE DAY
- Kyndra Marzorini had a good day overall at bat and in the circle. She went 3-for-5 with one RBI.
- Marzorini also hit a triple down the left field line in the top of the second during game one.
- Despite a loss, Marzorini pitched six innings and struck out three.
- For game one, Desiree Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a run.
- In the top of the third, Gonzalez stole second base.
- Korie Corral went 2-for-5 over the day with and RBI in game one.
- Aliyah Garvin went 2-for-5 overall with a run and a sacrifice bunt to advance Madison Flexser to second base.
- From Garvin's sac bunt in game one, Flexser was able to score in the top of the third.
NOTEWORTHY
- The Warriors are now 26-61 against the Tritons since they first met in March 2001.
- When the two teams met on Thursday evening, the Warriors lost game one 0-5 but were able to snag game two, 3-2.
- The Warriors will leave the series in La Jolla at 1-3.
