HAYWARD — The 19
th ranked Stanislaus State baseball team loss for just the second time this season as the Warriors couldn't overcome an early deficit in losing 8-2 to Cal State East Bay in game one of the scheduled doubleheader on Saturday.
The game two marathon, scheduled for 7-innings, was halted due to darkness with the score 4-4 heading into the bottom of the 12
th inning.
The teams will resume the suspended game at Noon on Sunday before the series finale.
Stanislaus State (10-2, 4-2 CCAA) was led by
Grant Bunker who went 2-for-4 with a homer.
Jacob Garcia also homered for the Warriors.
Starter
Tyler Meyer gave up seven runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings and
Nathan Gutierrez pitched the rest of the game. Gutierrez gave up just a run on four hits.
Dylon Jackson also had two hits in the first game.
In the second game, the score was 4-4 after four innings with teams putting up zeros for the next eight frames.
Anthony Ramirez pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings with six strikeouts in relief.
Alexis Paz is 4-for-6 and Jackson drove in two runs, so far, in the nightcap.
