TURLOCK — A five-run inning blew open the game while Warrior ace Rylan Tinsley put up more zeros as No. 20 Stanislaus State opened the series with a 9-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay Friday night.
 
The Warriors improve to 12-3 overall and 6-3 in the CCAA while increasing their home mark to 10-1 this season.
 
Warriors of the Game
• Dylon Jackson went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs as he personally out-hit the Otters.
• Jackson drove in two runs in the first inning to help Stan State to a 3-0 lead early.
• Matt Elser went 3-for-4 including a double.
• Erek Bolton had two hits. He also drove in a run in the first inning.
• Rylan Tinsley improved to 5-0 with seven shutout innings. He gave up just three hits and struck out six — five of the Otters struck out looking.
• Tommy Stropky threw the final two innings without giving up a hit.

That Five-Run Inning
• Stan State sent 10 batters to the plate to score five runs in the seventh.
• CSUMB committed three errors in the inning.
• Jacob Garcia and Dylon Jackson had RBI singles and Jayce Gardner plated a run with a sac fly to contribute to the inning.
