TURLOCK — The Warriors baseball team saw two leads evaporate on Saturday as visiting Cal State Monterey Bay rallied to win twice, 7-5 and 5-3, for a sweep to take a 2-to-1 series advantage.
Stanislaus State suffered two rare setbacks on home field and will try and earn a split in the series on Sunday. The 20th ranked Warriors are now 12-5 overall and 6-5 in CCAA play.
TOP PLAYERS OF THE DAY
•
Grant Bunker had three hits on the day, going 2-for-4 in game one and 1-for-2 with two walks in the nightcap. Bunker doubled in the first game.

Matt Elser also had a three-hit day with a 2-for-4 game one.
•
Alexis Paz drove in three runs in the doubleheader.
TOUGH LOSSES ON THE MOUND
• Despite suffering the loss in game two,
Damian Vallejos only gave up one earned run on one hit in three innings pitched. He, however, walked four batters.

Maxwell Pappas also suffered similar fate in game one, going three innings and gave up four hits. He was tagged with the loss by allowing two unearned runs.
EARLY LEADS, BOTH TIMES
• The Warriors led 5-0 after five innings in game one after a four-run fifth inning.

Jayce Gardner singled in a run, two runs scored on an CSUMB error, then a double-steal plated the inning's fourth run.
• In game two, the Warriors had a 3-0 lead after the first inning.

Grant Bunker and
Zach Jones for a 2-0 lead.
• Matt Else's single to center scored Gardner for the 3-0 lead.
CSUMB RALLIES LATE
• The Otters scored seven runs in the sixth through eight innings of game one to take over.
• Cal State Monterey Bay used a four-run fifth to take over the short-game night-cap.
