Baylon’s double-double helps to lead Warriors in big win on Homecoming night

TURLOCK – The Warriors came out to win on Homecoming night as they downed the Coyotes by 21 points. Angelica Baylon had her first double-double of the season as three other Warriors also scored double figures. The Warriors beat the Coyotes 78-57.
 
The Warriors succeed to 12-10 overall and 10-7 in the CCAA. The Coyotes fall to 3-16 overall and 3-13 in the CCAA.
 
TOP PERFORMERS OF THE NIGHT
  • Brittney Livingston was on fire in the first half scoring 13 points and going 3-for-5 from the three-point arc.
  • Livingston led the team with 16 points and four steals.
  • Livingston went 3-for-6 from the three-point line.
  • Angelica Baylon hit a double-double Thursday night with her 11 points and 10 assists. This is Baylon's first double-double of the season!
  • Kyanna Davis scored 12 points and also made three steals.
  • Lizzie Moore was in double figures again with a strong 11 points.
  • Kaleigh Taylor led with seven rebounds.
  • Caitlin Keding was strong from the three-point arc once again as she went 2-for-3.
  • Davis shot 2-for-2 from the free throw line. 
TEAM PERFORMANCE
  • The team had a lead of 20 for almost the entire second half.
  • The team went 28-for-73 from the field shooting 38.5 percent.
  • Stan State played great from the free throw line shooting 72.2 percent.
  • Surprisingly, both teams made equal rebounds with 46 each.
  • The Warriors had almost ten less turnovers with 16 as the Coyotes made 25.
  • The Warriors scored 23 points off turnovers and 36 points in the paint!
  • In the second quarter, the Warriors shot 100 percent from the free throw line.
  • The third quarter was the teams' best shooting from the field as they went 9-for-20 shooting 45 percent.

NOTEWORTHY
  • Stanislaus State is 16-29 against Cal State San Bernardino since they first met in December 1998.
  • The last time the two teams met the Warriors beat the Coyotes 60-47 on December 19, 2019.
  • The team is 11-1 in games that they are leading after the third and they are 12-0 when leading with five minutes left in the game.
  • The last time the Warriors won with 20 or more points was in 2017 when they beat Fresno Pacific by 24.
