CHICO –The Warriors took down the Wildcats once again for their back-to-back Wildcat takedown. The teams went to five sets in Friday's game but the Warriors ultimately won 3-2. (25-14, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-7)
Stan State had to keep up the energy after defeating Chico on Wednesday and they continued to do this as they took down the Wildcats.
The Warriors are now 10-8 overall and 6-4 in conference. The Wildcats fall to 6-12 overall and 2-8 in the CCAA.
Stan State had 56 kills, 51 assists and 53 digs. The Warriors were amazing at the service line as they had 21 aces!
Leading the team to those 21 aces was
Chelsey Berry with a season best of six. Berry also had 18 digs and four assists.
Ellison Weaver had four aces and
Penelope Zepeda finished with three.
Kiara Erving and
Yisel Perez finished the game with 11 kills each.
Macky Morris led her team in kills with 13. With 24 assists was none other than
Haley Burdo and right behind her with 21 was
Ambria Schneringer. Perez, Morris and Erving were all leaders for the Warriors with 12 total blocks.
As the Warriors were forced to go into a fifth set, this wouldn't stop them as they finished out that set with ease in their eight-point lead.
The women hold their place at sixth in the CCAA with the hopes to move up in the near future as they travel to San Francisco and Seaside.
The women take on San Francisco State next on October 22 at 5 p.m.
