STOCKTON — The Stanislaus State men's basketball team continued its early season schedule gauntlet Tuesday with its second exhibition against an NCAA Division I program, this time falling, 65-46, against the University of the Pacific at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

The Tigers (2-2) got out to a big lead in the first half, but the Warriors (0-2) played them quite even in the second. Pacific got out to as much as an 18-point lead late in the first period. They went on a 20-5 run over a 7 minute, 45 second stretch to go ahead, 25-8.

Stanislaus State got as close as eight points in the second half with a 10-0 run of their own that they started two minutes in. 3-pointers by
Will Pallesi and
Luis Salgado helped power the run. But the Tigers answered right back with a 14-0 run that pushed their lead all the way back to 22 points at 56-34.

All nine Warriors who saw playing time scored at least two points and had at least one rebound.
Marlon Short led them with nine points and seven rebounds.
Luis Salgado and
Benno Zecic had eight points each. Salgado had five steals and two blocks to boot.

Alphonso Anderson led the Tigers with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Jeremiah Bailey and Sam Freeman scored 14 points each. Freeman was a perfect 6 for 6 from the floor.
