TURLOCK –Unable to close out the match in their season opener, the Stanislaus State volleyball team dropped to Holy Names in five very close sets.
The Warriors were just a few rallies behind the Hawks in those 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 21-25 and 22-20 sets. Although the women were right there with the Hawks, they never stopped cheering.
Despite the loss, the Warriors had 95 digs, 64 kills, six aces and 26 blocks, all higher than their opponent.
This would be their first of four games in the NorCal Classic. The team will travel to Fresno Pacific on Friday and to Dominican for the final two games on Saturday.
The Warriors take their first loss making them 0-1 and the Hawks would claim their first win at 1-0.
