TURLOCK, Calif.---- Stan State finished its week with its second straight draw with tying the visiting Chico State Wildcats 0-0.
Alexia Estrada had eight saves for her fourth shutout of the season. The Warriors had 14 shot attempts including seven on goal on the day.
FIRST HALF: The Warriors looked like they were going to take the early lead just two minutes into the match when Emma Hoffman stopped
Jackzeny Mancilla's shot on goal attempt. Stan State (5-3-4, 2-2-2 CCAA) had two more chances stopped by Hoffman in the next five minutes. The first came in the 11
th minute off the foot of
Alexis Brewah. The second came seven minutes later as
Sabrina Cabrera's shot on goal attempt was stopped by Chico's keeper. Brewah had another chance for the match's first goal, but her shot sailed wide right in the 39
th minute. Late in the half, Summer Baron saw her chance to give Chico State the lead, but
Alexia Estrada made one of her eight saves on the day to send the match into the half scoreless.
SECOND HALF: Early in the second half, Cabrera saw another shot on goal attempts be stopped by the Wildcats' Emma Hoffmann. Estrada made one of her eight saves in the 59
th minute when she stopped Baron's attempt. With 19 minutes left in the match, Brewah and Cabrera had chances to give Stan State the lead but once again Hoffman came up big with two of her seven saves. Estrada made two of her eight saves late in the match to have the match end in a scoreless draw.
NUMBER FOUR: Alexia Estrada recorded her fourth shutout this afternoon in the scoreless draw with Chico State (6-2-4, 3-1-2 CCAA). Estrada had eight saves en route to the shutout for the Warriors.
BREWAH: Today was just the third match this season that
Alexis Brewah didn't have a goal or an assist. This season, she leads the Warriors with eight goals and five assists for 21 points.
