Warriors Start Off Ron Logsdon Classic With An 83-72 Loss

ROHNERT PARK, Calif.---  Despite the trio of Kobe Ordonio, Tony Singleton and Marlon Short combining for 50 of their 72 points. Stan State lost 83-72 to Western Oregon in the first game of the Ron Logsdon Classic in Rohnert Park, Calif.  Ordonio had a season high 23 points to lead the Warriors while Singleton chipped in 17 points and Marlon Short added 10 points.

FIRST HALF: Western Oregon jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the first three minutes of the game, before the Warriors went on a 12-0 run capped by an old-fashioned three-point play by Kobe Ordonio off a pass from Benno Zecic as Stan State took a 14-8 lead.  An Antonio Salinas three gave the Wolves back the lead, 21-20, with 9:17 left in the half.  The game went back and forth in the next couple of minutes until Cameron Cranston hit a three to give Western Oregon a 27-24 lead at the 6:24 mark of the first half.  The Wolves increased their lead to 41-29 on a three by Yosani Clay with just 67 seconds left in the first half.  Tony Singleton hit one of two of his free throws to cut the deficit to 41-30 heading into the locker room at the half.

SECOND HALF:  Cameron Cranston's lay-up three minutes into the second half increased the Wolves' lead to 47-33.  A jumper by Cameron Benzel gave Western Oregon (2-1) a 55-40 lead.  A Benno Zecic lay-up capped a 9-2 run by the Warriors as they cut the deficit to 57-49 at the mid-way point of the second half.  Western Oregon followed that with an 8-2 run of its own to take a 65-51 lead.  Stan State (1-3) wouldn't go away as once again, the Warriors went on a 7-0 run to cut the Wolf lead to 65-58 with just 7:40 left in regulation.  The Wolves outscored the Warriors 8-4 in the next three minutes to take a 73-62 lead.
A Daniel Ameyaw lea-up capped a 5-1 mini-run by Stan State as they cut the deficit to 74-67 with 4:03 on the clock.  Western Oregon finished the game outscoring the Warriors 9-5 to take a 83-72 non-conference victory.

50 of 72: The trio of Kobe Ordonio, Tony Singleton and Marlon Short scored 50 of Stan State's 72 points.  Ordonio scored a season high 23 points on nine-for-14 shooting including two-for-four from three's and three-for-three from the line.
