LOS ANGELES — The Stanislaus State baseball team scored 20 total runs Saturday in earning a California Collegiate Athletic Association doubleheader split on the road at Cal State LA, winning game one, 17-6, before dropping the nightcap, 4-3, at Reeder Field.
Â
The Warriors (4-4, 2-1 CCAA) scored their most runs in a single game in nearly three years while winning the opener. 13 hits, four doubles and a home run, seven walks and two stolen bases were all a part of the Warriors' offensive explosion in game one.
Â
The Warriors were walked off in the bottom of the seventh of game two by Cal State LA (6-7, 1-2 CCAA). Stanislaus State tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the seventh, but a leadoff single, a sac bunt and a wild pitch put the winning run on third. Two intentional walks loaded the bases for force outs and a strikeout put Stan State within one out of escaping the jam, but another wild pitch scored the winning run from third.
