SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.---  In both team's California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opener, the Cal State San Bernardino (5-2, 1-0 CCAA) defeated the visiting Stanislaus State Warriors 3-1 this afternoon at Premier Field on the campus of Cal State San Bernardino.  Alexis Brewah scored her team leading sixth goal of the season for the Warriors' goal in the 38th minute.

FIRST HALF:  Stanislaus State (3-2-2, 0-1 CCAA) had two chances in the 28th minute to take the lead, but the Yotes' Carly Luna snapped Daisy Martinez's and Marivic Lek-Miro's shot on goal attempts to keep the match scoreless. Four minutes later, the hosts took the 1-0 lead on a goal by Jocelyn Galvan off a cross from Isabella Santa Maria.  The Yotes didn't have the lead long though as Alexis Brewah scored her sixth goal of the season in the 38th minute to tie the match at 1-1.  Cal State San Bernardino retook the lead two minutes later on an unassisted goal by Alissa Torres.  Stanislaus State had a chance to tie the match at 2-2, but Brewah's shot attempt sailed high and the match went into the half with CSUSB leading 2-1.

SECOND HALF:  Once again in the 49th minute, the Warriors had a chance tie the match at 2-2 when Arionna Imhoff's shot on goal attempt was stopped by the Yotes' Luna.  CSUSB's keeper made one of her seven saves in the 58th minute when Luna stopped Lek-Miro's shot on goal attempt.  The Warriors had another chance to tie the match, but Jocelyn Lopez's shot was snagged by Luna.  CSUSB increased its lead to 3-1 as Santa Marisa connected on a ball from Vanessa Massaro in the 76th minute.  Imhoff had another chance to cut into the deficit when Luna made another save in the 78th minute.  Stanislaus State's final chance came in the 88th minute as Makeila Yancey's shot went high over the crossbar as the match ended with the Yotes winning 3-1.
