TURLOCK – With another 3-0 sweep under their belt against the Academy of Art Tuesday evening, the Warriors have now put up a commanding six-game winning streak to bring their record to 7-1 for the year. The team hosted their first home volleyball game with fans since 2019, securing their first home win at Fitzpatrick Arena of the 2022 season.

Keeping their undefeated reputation alive, the team set the tone early with a 25-11 win in the first set. Clean touches on Stan State's side of the net led to just a single error in set one, led by an early scoring run to go up 7-2. In a solid defensive effort, the Warriors held Academy of Art to a negative hitting percentage, while hitting .303 themselves. A big-time block by
Alex Byrd and Mariah Iousa helped put the nail in the coffin to take the lead to 24-11, leading to a 25-11 set victory.
Â
The Urban Knights kept the second set within single digits early on, but a set leading four kills from
Penelope Zepeda and two big blocks from
Macky Morris and Byrd once again helped seal the deal on a 25-18 victory in set number two. The Warriors did an exceptional job protecting the net, as they finished the match with eight total blocks. Byrd led the team in that category with five block assists and one solo block, putting her #2 in the conference in blocks per set. She is also #1 in the conference in hitting percentage at .444.

Eyriana Eatmon shared the sugar on the offensive end, dropping 10 dimes to her teammates and putting the icing on a 25-20 final set with a match point kill.
