TURLOCK, Calif.--- Six players scored in double digits led by
Kobe Ordonio's season high 23 points to key Stan State's 94-84 victory over the visiting No. 12 Cal State San Bernardino Yotes at The Fitz this evening. Besides Ordonio's 23 points,
Marlon Short chipped in 21 points while
Travion Williams had 12 points.
Benno Zecic,
Will Pallesi and
Jeremiah Jones each had 10 points for the victory. Zecic added 11 assists to give him his second double-double of the season.
FIRST HALF: Cal State San Bernardino (11-2, 6-1 CCAA) scored the first five points of the game capped by a Robby Robinson jumper in the paint.
Marlon Short's dunk off a pass from
Benno Zecic capped a 8-2 run by the Warriors as they took a 8-7 lead. Darius Mickens jumper gave the Coyotes back the lead, 9-8, on their next possession Stan State came right back and went on a 9-2 run to take a 17-11 lead capped by a Short lay-up off another pass from Zecic. Two free throws by
Daniel Ameyaw increased the hosts' lead to 24-12 with a little under eleven minutes left in the half. Brandon Knapper's three capped a 12-0 run by the Yotes to tie the game at 24-24 with eight minutes on the clock. Stan State outscored the Yotes 19-7 in the next six minutes to take a 43-31 lead. The Yotes didn't go away as they cut the deficit to 45-40 heading into the locker room.
SECOND HALF: CSUSB scored the first four points of the second half to cut the Warrior lead to 45-44 in the first ninety seconds of the new stanza. A
Jeremiah Jones' three capped a 6-0 run by Stan State as the Warriors took a 51-44 lead. The guests cut the Warrior lead twice to four including 56-52 on a Mahmound Fofana three. Stan State once again came right back and went on a 7-0 run to take a 63-52 lead with 11:55 on the clock. The Warriors kept their lead between six and ten for the next six minutes. A Zecic three increased Stan State's lead to 80-69 with 5:46 left in regulation. The Yotes wouldn't go away as they cut their deficit to four (86-82) on a
Dontrell Shuler jumper with 89 ticks on the clock. Stan State went six-for-six from the line down the stretch with Ordonio going four-for-four and Short two-for-two as Stan State (6-9, 4-5 CCAA) took the 94-84 CCAA victory.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Benno Zecic had his second double-double of the season this evening with 10 points and 11 assists. He went four-for-nine from the field including two-for-four from three-point land. Zecic tied his career high with 11 assists to go with his two steals and five rebounds.
SWAT THAT SHOT: The Warriors had six blocked shots on the evening led by
Daniel Ameyaw and
Travion Williams each with two.
Kobe Ordonio,

17 TURNOVERS: Stan State forced 17 turnovers by the Yotes including 11 by steals.
Marlon Short had four steals to lead the way for Stan State while
Travion Williams had three and

CAREER HIGHS: Travion Williams scored a career high 12 points this evening. He went a perfect five-for-five from the field and two-for-three from the line. Wiliams had seven rebounds to go with his one assist, three steals and two blocked shots.
24-FOR-28: The Warriors went 24-for-28 from the charity stripe. Five Warriors were perfect from the line in
Kobe Ordonio (seven-for-seven),

UP NEXT: Stan State finishes its season long five-game home stand this Saturday, January 14 against Cal Poly Pomona. The Broncos lost 81-64 earlier this evening at Chico State.
