TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State will return to the pitch for two matches against Northern California opponents Cal Poly Humboldt and Sonoma State. The Warriors will travel to Arcata for a 3 p.m. match with Cal Poly Humboldt on Thurs., Oct. 12. They will return home this Sun., Oct. 15 for a 2 p.m. match with Sonoma State at Warrior Stadium.
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS: Stan State is 3-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the CCAA after going 0-1-1 in its two matches last week against nationally ranked opponents in Southern California.
Tyler Tipton leads the way for Stan State with his nine goals and team high 18 points.
Edgar Castaneda is next with his three goals, two assists and eight points followed by
Finn Hoffmann with his two goals, two assists and six points. Each of the three of them have recorded the Warriors' three game-winning goals.
Robby Rosas has a 2.30 goals against average with 56 saves, a .709 saves percentage, and a 2.30 goals against average in eleven matches.
LAST MATCHES: Stan State tied No. 25 Cal State San Bernardino 2-2 on Friday on the road.
Tyler Tipton scored both Warriors' two goals with

Sammy Villanueva each assisted on the two goals. The Warriors finished the weekend with an 8-0 loss at No. Cal Poly Pomona.
FIRST-YEAR HEAD COACH: John Powell'11 returned to his alma mater as the Warriors' head men's soccer coach when he was hired this Spring after spending the past two seasons on the sidelines at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Powell guided the Nighthawks to a 15-4-3 record this season including an appearance in the NCAA Division II Super Region Four Final (Elite Eight). He was the 2022 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Coach of the Year and guided the Nighthawks to their best season in program history. They captured the GNAC regular season title and won three NCAA Division II Tournament matches, before losing 1-0 to the National Champion Runner-up, Colorado State-Pueblo. He coached twelve All-GNAC honorees and four All-Region players during his two-years at NNU. In his four seasons coaching at Stan State and Northwest Nazarene with a 29-25-4 overall record.
CCAA LEADERS: Tyler Tipton leads the CCAA with his nine goals and .818 goals per game average. He is second with his 18 points and 1.64 points per game average.
Robby Rosas is first in the CCAA with 56 saves, second with 5.09 saves per game average, and ninth with his .709 saves percentage.

Julian Madrigal and Joe Michelana each with nine goals. He is in seventh place with his 18 points on the single season points list.
CAL POLY HUMBOLDT: The Lumberjacks are 4-5-1 overall and 1-3 in the CCAA after going 1-1 last week with a 4-3 win at SF State and a 2-1 loss at then No. 15 Cal State Monterey Bay. Cole Falco leads the team with his three goals, two assists, and eight points. He has a team high two game-winning goals. Right behind Falco is Juan Perez with three goals, one assist, seven points followed by Cooper Stephens with two goals, two assists, and six points and Marcus Abdel-Malek (two goals, one assist, five points, one game-winning goal). Adrian Gallardo has a .771 saves percentage with 54 saves, two shutouts, and a 1.68 goals against average in ten matches.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Stan State leads the all-time series 14-5-1, but the Jacks have won the last three meetings including 3-0 last year in Arcata. The last Stan State victory was a 3-1 win in Turlock in 2018.
SONOMA STATE: Heading into their match against No. 3 Chico State on Thursday, the Seawolves are 3-5-2 overall and 2-2 in the CCAA after going 2-0 last week with a 2-0 victory at then No. 15 Cal State Monterey Bay and a 3-2 win at SF State. Jvan Cunningham leads the way with three goals, three assists and eight points with two game-winning goals. Patrick Neill is next with two goals, two assists, and six points followed by Oliver Ziemer with one goal, three assists and five points. Alejandro Zarate has two goals this season. Reinier ter Riet and Jack Chapman each have 20 saves and a .714 saves percentage. Chapman has a 1.39 goals against average while Reiner ter Riet has a 1.53 goals against average.

The Warriors will return home for their final two home matches of the regular season against No. 23 Cal State Monterey Bay (Fri., Oct. 27 at 7pm) and SF State (Sun., Oct. 29 at 11:30am).
