Warriors to Face Chico State in Home/Away Series

TURLOCK, Calif.---  Stan State will face conference rival Chico State in a home-away series this Wednesday, October 11 and Friday, October 13.  The two teams will face each other this Wednesday, October 11 at The Fitz in Turlock, Calif.  They will end the week with a match in Chico, Calif., this Friday, October 13.  Both matches are schedule to begin at 5pm. 
 
RECAP OF WEEKEND:  In their last three matches, Stan State went 0-3 on the road at Cal State East Bay (17-25, 24-26, 23-25), at Cal State Monterey Bay (25-17, 20-25, 18-25, 26-28), and at home versus No. 18 Chaminade (20-25, 25-19, 20-25, 17-25. Against the Pioneers on Friday, Ellison Weaver had 14 kills while Alex Byrd added seven blocks for the Warriors.  On Saturday against the Otters, Samaya Royal led the way with ten kills and five blocks while Eyriana Eatmon added five service aces.  Then on Monday at home versus the Silverswords, Isabella Saucedo had nine kills and Rein Bocage added 14 digs for the Warriors.  
 
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS:  Stan State is 6-11 overall and 1-7 in the CCAA.  The Warriors are 4-3 at home and 0-7 on the road.  They are 2-1 in neutral site matches.  Mariah Iosua leads the way with her 129 kills followed by Ellison Weaver with 119.  Haley Burdo has a team leading 317 assists with Eyriana Eatmon with 197.  Eatmon leads the team with her 33 service aces and Autumn Kirby and Burdo each have 17.  Gabby Rawson leads the Warriors with her 324 digs. Burdo has 122 digs and Rein Bocage has 113.  Alex Byrd leads the team with her 73 total blocks followed by Kirby with 42.  
 
HEAD COACH LAUREN FLOWERS:  In her first season in 2022 at the helm of the Warrior volleyball team became Stan State's all-time winningest team with its .655 winning percentage. The Warriors finished with a 19-10 overall record with the 19 wins tying for the most in school history.  They finished in sixth place and qualified for the CCAA Volleyball Championships.  In her two seasons, Flowers is 25-21. With the Warriors' win over then No. 21 Alaska Anchorage in the Denali State Bank Ice Block Classic, Flowers has guided Stan State so three victories over top 25 teams.  In 2022, the Warriors defeated then No. 25 Winona State (3-0 in Carson) and No. 13 Cal State San Bernardino (3-2 in Turlock).
 
MOVIN' ON UP:  Haley Burdo is tied for sixth with 110 service aces and eighth with 1459 assists on Stan State's top ten career list.  Alex Byrd is seventh on the Warriors' all-time solo block career list with 47. Gabby Rawson is seventh with 907 career digs. 
 
RANKED NATIONALLY:  Gabby Rawson is 15th in digs per set and 23rd in total digs.  Alex Byrd is 20th in total blocks and 27th in blocks per set.  Eyriana Eatmon is 28th in service aces.  
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLES: Four Warriors have recorded double-doubles in Haley Burdo, Eyriana Eatmon, Mariah Iosua, and Ellison Weaver.  Eatmon has 14 double-doubles in her career and one this season at Stan State while Burdo (26 career, two season), Ellison Weaver (five career, one season), and Iosua (four career, three season).  Gabby Rawson has recorded one double-double in her career. 


HONORS:  Emily Vander Weide was named to the seven-team Stanislaus State Labor Day Volleyball Tournament. For the third time in her career, Gabby Rawson was named the CCAA Defensive Player of the Week for the week of August 28-September 3 and the week of September 4-10. She has been named the Defensive Player of the Week five times during her career as a Warrior.  Rawson was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Denali State Bank Ice Block Classic in Alaska.
 
AMONGST THE CONFERENCE LEADERS:  Alex Byrd, Eyriana Eatmon, and Gabby Rawson lead the CCAA in six statistical categories.  Byrd in blocks and blocks per set. Eatmon in service aces and service aces per set.  Rawson is digs and digs per set.   
 
NATION'S LEADERS:  Gabby Rawson is eighth in the nation with her 5.72 digs per set average and 14th with 286 digs.  Alex Byrd is 34th with 59 total blocks and 37th with her 1.16 blocks per set average. 
 
UPDATE ON THE WILDCATS:  Chico State is 4-8 overall and 1-7 in the CCAA after falling in its two matches last week. The Wildcats lost in five at Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday and in three at Cal State East Bay on Saturday.  Zoe DiNardo leads the team with her 140 kills.  Brooke Ono has a team high 373 assists while Lexi Carpenter leads Chico with her 152 digs.  Jessie Camarillo has a team high 18 service aces and Gwyneth Wentzel leads the Wildcats with her 21 total blocks. 
 
ALL-TIME SERIES:  Chico State leads the all-time series 20-11 but the Warriors have won the last five meetings. Stan State won in four in Chico on October 5.  Makenna Carrillo led Stan State with 10 kills while Haley Burdo had seven service aces and 24 assists.  Eyriana Eatmon had 12 digs and 14 assists with Gabby Rawson adding 18 digs.  The Warriors defeated the Wildcats in three on October 7 in Turlock.  Ellison Weaver had nine kills, Gabby Rawson 18 digs, Haley Burdo four service aces.
