Stan State Falls 3-1 at Cal Poly Pomona

POMONA, Calif.---   Cal Poly Pomona (6-2-2, 4-0-0 CCAA) scored three unanswered goals from the 45th to the 60thminute marks to key its 3-1 CCAA victory over the visiting Stan State Warriors.  Arionna Imhoff scored the Warriors' lone goal in the 87th minute.  The Warriors will end their three-match road trip this Thursday, October 12 for a 12:30pm match at Cal Poly Humboldt. 
 
FIRST HALF:  Stan State (4-5-1, 1-2-1 CCAA) had the match's first chance for the lead in the 21st minute when Alexis Brewah's shot sailed left of the goal.  The hosts had two chances for the 1-0 lead when Natalia Ochoa stopped both of Alexis Macias' shot on goal attempts in the 29th minute.  In between Macias' shot on goal attempts, Alisha Garcia had a chance to give the Warriors the lead but her shot attempt went wide left of the goal.  Cal Poly Pomona took the 1-0 lead with just four seconds left as Marisa Salazar connected on a through ball by Melanie Harradine to send the match into the half with the hosts leading 1-0.
 
SECOND HALF:  Marivic Lek-Miro saw her chance to tie the match for the Warriors go right of the goal just one minute in the new half.  Aliah Avilla had a chance to tie the match for Stan State go high over the net in the 55thminute.  Twelve seconds later, the Broncos doubled their lead when Tara Oper scored off a ball from Melanie Harradine.  Stan State came right down the pitch, but Alexis Brewah's shot attempt went high over the goal.  Cal Poly Pomona took a 3-0 lead when Jaclyn Cuevas' scored in the 60th minute.  Arionna Imhoff had a chance to cut into the Warrior deficit go over the goal in the 75th minute.  With less than four minutes left in the match, Imhoff scored her first goal of the season, but it was a little too late as Cal Poly Pomona took the 3-1 victory. 
 
STATS: Cal Poly Pomona outshot the Warriors 13-10 including 8-2 in shot on goal attempts.  Natalia Ochoa had five saves in goal for the Warriors while Bella Hara had one save for the Broncos.
 
UP NEXT:  The Warriors will finish off their three-match road trip this Thursday, October 12 in Arcata, Calif., for a 12:30pm match with Cal Poly Humboldt.  They will return home on Sunday, October 15 at 11:30am for a match with Sonoma State.
