LAST GAME: The Warriors went 1-1 during their most recent road trips, after a loss to #6 Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State East Bay.
UPDATE ON THE WARRIORS: With a record current record of 6-14, Stan State has gone a 3-7 at home and 3-6 on the road. This week, the team will host a Title IX 50th Anniversary game against Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday night, followed by Golden Valley Health Centers Day on Saturday vs. Sonoma State.
AMONGST THE CCAA LEADERS: The Warrior's defensive efforts have not been in vain; they retain their #1 spot in blocked shots (3.80) and are still 2
nd in steals per game (10.15). Coming off a CCAA Player of the Week award,
Makayla Rose continues as the conference's leading scorer, averaging 19.5 ppg against CCAA competitors. Her 3.0 steals per game puts her 2
nd in the conference as well.
Joia Armstrong holds the 5
th best blocks per game average at 1.2, while
Lyric Richardson and
Aunika Hornung have also jumped into the top-25 in blocks, averaging 0.6 swats each.
CAL POLY HUMBOLDT: The Lumberjacks are 8-10 overall this season, good for 7
th place in the CCAA. The 'Jacks do a solid job of getting teammates involved, averaging 14.17 assists per game. They are also the 3
rd best team in free throw percentage (77.0%) however, rebounding has been a struggle for them this season on both the offensive and defensive boards. Sophomore forward Madison Parry is the team's front runner in scoring at 16.4 ppg.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Cal Poly Humboldt is 22-8 against the Warriors historically since 2008. The Lumberjacks have won their last two home games against Stan State.
SONOMA STATE: The Seawolves are currently 6
th place overall in the conference with an 11-9 record so far this year. Their three-point percentages have been fairly low this season at around 27.2%, but they will match the Warriors' defensive intensity with a 2
nd ranked steals average (3.40) and 3
rd ranked blocks average (9.55). Sophomore forward Alli McDonald leads the team in scoring, averaging an even 14.0 ppg on 41.4% three-point shooting.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Since 2008, the Warriors hold a 14-12 lead over the Seawolves. Sonoma State won their last bout earlier this season by just one point in a 72-71 victory at home.
