Warriors Earn the 7-0 Sweep in Home Opener vs. WJU

TURLOCK, Calif. – The Warriors finally got a chance to compete on their home court for the first time this season against William Jessup, pulling off a clean sweep in front of their home crowd.

DOUBLES: The one-two punch of Alyssa Tay/Amber Huk and Annabelle Mulick/Zuzanna Dziewiecka earned the Warriors' two double victories with 6-1 finishes over the Warriors from Rocklin, Calif.

SINGLES: Individual wins were good and plenty for the Stan State squad, as Amber Huk started her day winning both sets with a 7-5 win, followed by a 6-1 waltz to close out the match. Zuzanna Dziewiecka rode two 6-2 sets to victory in her singles battle to complete her sweep. Alyssa Tay got off to a fast start in her opening set, making the most of her rallies for a 6-2 set win. She followed things up with a narrower 7-5 finish to end in the win column for her team. Tay Cazarin played a close first set, squeezing out the 7-5 win. She started to find her groove on the latter half of the match, waltzing to a 6-0 finish to keep the home Warriors on top. Emma Yu secured both sets (6-3, 6-1) to earn a win of her own in solo play. Maya Young would go the distance in her WJU matchup, taking two of three sets (6-4, 4-6, 10-3). Young pulled off a poised finish, paired with a couple of impressive shots in the tiebreaker set.

UP NEXT: Heading to Reno for another visit to University of Nevada, the Warriors will face-off against the Wolf Pack tomorrow on the road.
