Box Score RENO, Nev. – With less than 24 hours between their final match of yesterday's home opener and the Warriors' first matches against the Wolf Pack, the team was put up against some tough competitors in their Saturday afternoon matchup. Nevada took the 7-0 victory, but not without valiant fights from Stan State's singles matches. The visiting Warriors snuck a total of 25 games away from the Wolf Pack in along the way.
DOUBLES: Doubles matches were headlined by
Alyssa Tay/
Amber Huk,
Zuzanna Dziewiecka/
Annabelle Mulick, and
Tay Cazarin/
Emma Yu. The Tay/Huk collective took a game from Nevada to start the day off, but couldn't outlast their opponents in the 6-1 finish. Dziewiecka/Mulick and Cazarin/Yu both finished 0-6 on the latter half of their matchups.
SINGLES: The Warriors displayed flashes of upside as they went solo through singles play. Huk took two of eight games in both of her sets played (2-6, 2-6), while Dziewiecka took her opening set to a close 4-6, 2-6 finish. Tay (3-6, 4-6) made the most out of her opportunities, getting seven games to bounce in her favor as a result. Mulick did much of the same, but finished the bout 4-6, 1-6 with a handful of games in the win column. Cazarin (2-6, 1-6) and Young (0-6,0-6) couldn't quite battle their way into contention, despite some powerful performances just a day ago.
