INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Stan State women's tennis team has been ranked No. 6 in the latest NCAA Division II West Region rankings, as announced this week.

The Warriors enter the rankings with an 8-8 overall Division II record (8-11 overall), with all matches counting in-region, positioning them sixth among a competitive West Region field.

Leading the rankings is Azusa Pacific (20-1), followed by Point Loma (13-3), Hawai'i Pacific (16-3), Fresno Pacific (12-6), and Biola (11-8), with Stan State rounding out the top six.

This regional ranking is a key indicator in determining selection for the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship, with the top teams advancing to postseason play.

Stan State has battled through a challenging schedule this spring, highlighted by wins over regionally ranked Hawai'i Pacific and conference opponents Dominican, Chaminade, Concordia Irvine, and Cal State Los Angeles. The Warriors also finished seventh at the PacWest Championships, while Azusa Pacific captured the conference title.

The NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship selection show will be streamed live on NCAA.com on Monday, May 4 at 8 p.m. ET. The first round of play is set to begin Tuesday, May 19, with the championship scheduled for Thursday, May 23 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.

A total of 48 teams will compete in the single-elimination tournament, beginning with preliminary-round matches at 16 different sites to determine the 16-team field advancing to the first round. Twenty conference champions will earn automatic bids, while 28 teams will receive at-large selections.
