TURLOCK, Calif.--- Despite the trio of
Mya Blake,
Jadyn Patterson, and
Asha Walker combining for 39 points, Stan State fall 94-70 to the visiting Cal Poly Pomona Broncos (10-5, 6-4 CCAA) this evening in a CCAA match-up at The Fitz. Blake and Walker each chipped in for 14 points while Patterson added 11 points for the Warriors.
FIRST QUARTER: Cal Poly Pomona (10-5, 6-4 CCAA) jumped out to a 18-4 in the first seven minutes of the quarter capped by an old-fashioned three-point play by Reina Sausedo.
Aunika Hornung's jumper cut the deficit to 18-6 on the Warriors' next possession. The Broncos finished the quarter scoring the final three points to take a 21-6 lead heading into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: Andrea Stajic trey started the second quarter outscoring the Warriors 18-8 to increase the guests' lead to 39-24 in the first seven minutes of the game. The Broncos took a 46-19 with just 1:14 to go in the half. They took a 48-22 lead into the locker room.
THIRD QUARTER: Breanne Ha's three increased the Broncos' lead to 61-25 just three minutes into the third quarter.
Jadyn Patterson's trey off a
Taylor Pilot assist cut the Warrior deficit to 76-42 heading into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Once again, Cal Poly Pomona went on a run to begin the fourth quarter. Syndey Nelson's lay-up gave the Broncos an 84-42 lead just two minutes into the final quarter. Stan State (10-10, 5-5 CCAA) finished the game outscoring the Broncos 28-10 to make the final 94-70 visitors.
TRIO IN DOUBLE FIGURES: Stan State had three players scoring in double digits
Asha Walker career high 14 points and
Mya Blake's 14 points.
Jadyn Patterson added 11 points for Stan State.
16/11: The Warriors forced 16 turnovers by the Broncos and recorded 11 steals. Four of those steals came by
Mya Blake. Two came by
Talia Maxwell while
Asha Walker,
Aunika Hornung,
Jadyn Patterson, Kayln Harris, and
Iman Addison each had one.
