TURLOCK, Calif.--- Four Stan State Warriors scored in double digits to lead their second half rally to defeat the visiting Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes 74-63 this afternoon at The Fitz.
Mya Blake paced the hosts with a game high 24 points.
Talia Maxwell recorded her first collegiate double-double with a career high 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Asha Walker and
Aunika Hornung each chipped in 10 points for the victory.
FIRST QUARTER: Cal State San Bernardino (7-9, 5-6 CCAA) scored the games' first five points to take an early 5-0 lead in the first five minutes.
Aunika Hornung's free throw capped a 11-2 run by the hosts as they took a 11-7 lead at the 2:45 mark of the quarter. The Coyotes tied the game at 11-11 on two Jaida Jackson's free throws.
Mya Blake's back-to-back treys capped a quarter ending 8-2 run by the Warriors as they took a 19-13 lead into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: The visitors started the second quarter on a 21-2 run in the first nine minutes capped by a Mia Dufresne jumper to take a 34-21 lead.
Talia Maxwell's jumper cut the Warrior deficit to 34-23 lead heading into the half.
THIRD QUARTER: Lyric Richardson's jumper off a
Taylor Pilot assist capped a 6-0 run to begin the third quarter for the hosts as they cut the CSUSB lead to 34-29. The Coyotes increased their lead to 41-31 with three minutes left in the third quarter. Stan State (11-10, 6-5 CCAA) finished the quarter outscoring CSUSB 18-7 keyed by
Mya Blake's three free throws at the end of the quarter as the Warriors took a 49-48 lead.
FOURTH QUARTER: The hosts continued their rally and increased their lead to 54-48 on a
Talia Maxwell jumper just a minute into the quarter. CSUSB followed that with a 6-0 run to tie the gamer at 54-54.
Mya Blake's trey off a
Taylor Pilot assist capped a 10-1 run by the Warriors as they took a 64-54 lead with 4:31 left in regulation. Jaida Jackson's lay-up cut the Stan State lead to 68-61 with 84 seconds to go in the game. Stan State finished the game going six-for-six from the line (Pilot four-for-four and Maxwell two-for-two) to take the 74-63 victory.
THREE-WAY TIE FOR FOURTH: Heading into the second half of the CCAA season, Stan State is in a three-way tie for fourth place with Sonoma State and Cal State Dominguez Hills each with a 6-5 conference record. Cal State San Marcos holds the top spot in the CCAA at 10-1 followed by Cal Poly Pomona ad Chico State each tied for second place at 7-4.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Talia Maxwell recorded her first collegiate double-double this afternoon with a career high 15 points and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench. She went five-for-nine from the field and five-for-six from the charity stripe. Of her 13 rebounds, eight were defensive.
51-30: Stan State won the battle of the boards this afternoon with CSUSB 51-30.

Lyric Richardson grabbed five rebounds.
35-10: The Warriors' bench outscored CSUSB's bench 35-10 led by the trio of
Talia Maxwell,
Asha Walker, and
Aunika Hornung who combined for the 35 points. Maxwell had 15 points and Walker and Hornung each had 10 points.
UP NEXT: Stan State starts the second half of conference season with two road games in the Bay Area. The Warriors will face the SF State Gators this Thursday, Jan. 25 in San Francisco and the Cal State East Bay Pioneers in Hayward this Saturday, Jan. 27. Stan State defeated the Gators 77-72 on Dec. 2 in Turlock. The Warriors defeated the Pioneers 69-46 on Nov. 30 in Turlock.
