CHICO, Calif.---Â Stanislaus State (13-5, 6-4 CCAA) faced Chico State (7-10, 4-6 CCAA) tonight, falling short 3-2 (15-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23, 20-15). This is a rare road loss for the Warriors, who have won all their away games up to today.

FIRST SET: Chico State came out strong in the first set, taking an early lead 6-2. The Warriors and the Wildcats traded kills, but Stan State struggled to find their footing to take the lead. Chico State claimed the set 25-15.

SECOND SET: Mariah Iosua got Stan State off to a strong start with three kills in a row. The scoring continued to go both ways, with
Makenna Carrillo also attacked well for the Warriors. Both Iosua and Carrillo recorded five kills for the set. The fight continued, with the score tying a total of ten times, before the Wildcats finally won the set 27-25.

THIRD SET: Stan State began the last set in an 8-3 deficit, but a timeout helped them begin closing the gap. Three service aces by
Isabella Saucedo and two service aces by
Haley Burdo brought the score to 15-13 in Stan State's favor. Another service ace by
Autumn Kirby, as well as a solo block and kill by
Makenna Carrillo, allowed the Warriors to take the set 25-22.

FOURTH SET: Set four may have started out in Chico State's favor with a 5-0 run, but
Emily Meyer's and
Ellison Weaver's four kills apiece ensured that Stan State kept the set close. The Warriors fought back to take the set 25-23.

FIFTH SET: The Warriors struggled to defend against Chico State's offense. While Stan State attempted to return fire, Chico was determined to win on their home ground. As a team, the Wildcats hit .625 in the set to win 15-10 and secure the match.

SOLID NUMBERS: Autumn Kirby hit .500 on the night with eight kills as well as adding two blocks to her stats.
Makenna Carrillo also had a good outing with ten kills, a solo block, and a combined block.
Emily Meyer recorded career highs in kills with 12 and solo blocks with three.
Shaelyn Pruiett had 24 assists while fellow setter
Haley Burdo recorded 20.
Gabby Rawson led in digs with 27.
