TURLOCK, Calif.---Â Stanislaus State (13-6, 6-5 CCAA) faced #5 Cal Poly Pomona (17-1, 11-0 CCAA) tonight, falling short 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-22). The Warriors look to get a win tomorrow at home before their four-game road trip.

FIRST SET: The Warriors fell behind early 2-5, but kills by
Makenna Carrillo helped bring the score even 8-8. Despite kills from
Alex Byrd and
Mariah Iosua, Stan State dropped the set 25-19.

SECOND SET: Stan State struggled in the second set, with a string of kills by Cal Poly Pomona without return kills from the Warriors.
Isabella Saucedo and
Ellison Weaver tried to turn the game around with a few kills apiece, but the Broncos took the set 25-15.

THIRD SET: Stan State looked more competitive going into the third set, with
Isabella Saucedo and
Malia Tanksley recording kills to get the momentum going.
Alex Byrd owned the middle of the set, recording three kills in four points. Byrd also had two blocks this set, though the Warriors did eventually fall to Cal Poly Pomona 25-22.

SOLID NUMBERS: Alex Byrd and
Isabella Saucedo lead in blocks with three each, with one of those being solo for Saucedo.
Gabby Rawson led the team in digs with 15, while
Haley Burdo had 12 assists for the Warriors.
