TURLOCK, Calif.--- With its 1-0 shutout victory of the visiting Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes this evening at home, Stan State are just two points out of fifth place in the CCAA regular season standings. This was the Warriors sixth shutout of the season and third straight.
Angel Ruiz-Hernandez had three saves in goal for the victors.
Jacob Ramirez scored the game-winner with less than six minutes left off a pass from
Edgar Castaneda.
FIRST HALF: Neither team had a shot on goal attempt until the 20
th minute when Anthony Morales' shot on goal attempt was one of
Angel Ruiz-Hernandez's three saves on the evening. Right after that, Stan State (6-4-4, 2-2-3 CCAA) had a chance for the lead when
Adrian Yepez's shot on goal attempt was stopped by the Coyotes' Aiden Hanes. Ten minutes later, Landon Leal-Ruiz saw his attempt to give the Warriors the lead be stopped by Hanes. With seven minutes left, CSUSB saw Jaret Rocha's attempt go right of the goal. Stan State's final chance of the half came off the foot of
Kenneth Solares which over the goal to send the match into the half scoreless.
SECOND HALF: In the first seven minutes of the second half, the Warriors had three shot on goal attempts two by
Edgar Castaneda and one by
Jacob Ramirez all be stopped by the visitors' goalkeeper. In the 80
th minute, Hunter George and Martin Garcia saw their chances to be heroes for CSUSB be stopped by the Warriors'
Angel Ruiz-Hernandez. With less than six minutes left on the clock, Stan State took the 1-0 lead when
Jacob Ramirez scored his third goal of the season on
Edgar Castaneda's fifth assist of the season. Cal State San Bernardino (4-3-6, 2-2-3 CCAA) did not get a shot off in the final minutes as the Warriors took the 1-0 victory.
JUST TWO POINTS OUT: Stan State is just two points out of the sixth and final spot for the CCAA Soccer Championships. Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay each have eleven points to tie them for fifth place. The Warriors have nine points and are tied for seventh with Cal State San Bernardino. The top six teams in the regular season standings after November 7
th will receive a berth to the 2024 CCAA Soccer Championships.
SIXTH SHUTOUT: Stan State recorded its third straight shutout this evening and third of the season.

16 TO 7: The Warriors outshot the Coyotes 16-7 including 7-3 in shot on goal attempts. They also held a 3-2 corner kick advantage.

Alexis Ramirez and
Ryan Rosas prior to the match versus the Broncos, who tied 2-2 at Chico State earlier this evening.

Stan State will travel to Hayward, Calif., for its final road game on Sunday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m. against Cal State East Bay. The Warriors will return home for their final regular season on Thursday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. against Chico State.
