SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.---Â Stanislaus State (15-7, 8-6 CCAA) played against #20 San Francisco State University (18-4. 12-2 CCAA) this afternoon, falling short 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 26-24). Their previous meeting was also three very close sets, so while Stan State has not managed to get the upper hand, they continue to remain competitive.

FIRST SET: Despite SF State going on an early run, Stan State activated their offense to catch up and then keep pace. On the back of kills from
Ellison Weaver and
Malia Tanksley, plus a service ace from
Haley Burdo, the Warriors took the lead 19-15. SF State were not shaken and instead returned with strong offense of their own, claiming the set 25-22.

SECOND SET: SF State put their foot on the gas pedal and did not let up this set. Stan State kept it close throughout the majority of the set with points from
Alex Byrd and
Malia Tanksley, but the Gators ended the set 25-21.

THIRD SET: Stan State earned two quick kills to start the set. The Gators responded with kills of their own, taking the lead 6-2. The Warriors' blocking proved to be the key to getting back into the game with four blocks and one solo block by
Mariah Iosua. SF State stayed steady, taking the set and match 26-24.

ONES TO WATCH: Malia Tanksley tied for a career high in kills with 12 in this match, leading the team. Tanksley had a career high hitting percentage tonight of .588, with 12 kills off 17 attempts and two errors.
Shaelyn Pruiett added another double-double to her records tonight with 12 assists and 10 digs, making it her fifth of the season. With her 19 digs tonight,
Gabby Rawson is now 40 digs away from breaking Stan State's all-time career digs record.

th. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. They then travel to Rohnert Park, Calif. to face Sonoma State University on Saturday, November 9
