Warriors Play Central Washington in GNAC/CCAA Crossover

ELLENSBURG, Wash.--- Stan State had their first regular season game at the GNAC/CCAA Crossover hosted by Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. The Warriors fell to the Wildcats, 67-90.

FIRST QUARTER: Central Washington started out the game strong, taking a quick lead and keeping it in the first quarter. A layup by Amya Vangkham-Griffin put up the first numbers on the board for the Warriors.

SECOND QUARTER: Stan State looked more comfortable going into the second, with Quinn Garrett going two-for-two shooting threes. Talia Maxwell snagged three defensive and four offensive rebounds, using those to also record two assists.

THIRD QUARTER: Scoring opened in the third quarter with eight points by three Warriors. Talia Maxwell added another jumper to make it ten before the Wildcats responded, though Stan State prevented them from extending their lead.

FOURTH QUARTER: The Warriors once again opened up scoring in the fourth quarter with eight points. They kept the momentum going, landing shots in response to the Central Washington offense, but could not quite catch the early established lead.

BACK TO FORM: Da'Myiah Lewis returns from her redshirt injury year with a team-leading 29 points. Lewis also recorded eight rebounds, three steals, and fifteen of her 29 points came in the fourth quarter.

UP NEXT: The Warriors play Northwest Nazarene University tomorrow, Saturday, November 9th in Ellensburg, Washington, with a 9:00 a.m. scheduled tip-off. They return to the Fitzpatrick Arena on Saturday, November 16th for their home opener against Academy of Art, starting at 6:00 p.m.
