Story Links

POMONA, Calif.--- #24 Stan State's first NCAA tournament appearance is ended by #4 Chaminade, with the Warriors dropping the match 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-11). Stan State ends their season as the winningest team in program history with a 22-8 overall record and a 12-6 record in conference play.

FIRST SET: The first set looked to be locked up by Stan State, striking out on an early lead 8-6. The Warrriors maintained the lead for much of the set, but a four-point run by Chaminade off a timeout forced Stan State to take one of their own at 21-17. The Silverswords continued to press their advantage to claim the first set 26-24.

SECOND SET: Stan State struggled early against the Chaminade offense, falling behind 6-3. With kills from Ellison Weaver and Mariah Iosua, the Warriors climbed back to even at 17-17. Chaminade refused to let Stan State take the set and closed it out 27-25.

THIRD SET: Silverswords opened the third set with two services aces, while Stan State responded with a kill from Autumn Kirby and a solo block by Makenna Carrillo. Chaminade was not deterred, scoring six points while the Warriors only earned two of their own. The Silverswords continued their dominant run, winning the set and match 25-11.
