TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State (2-6, 1-2 CCAA) continue the December road trip, traveling to Seattle Pacific University on Saturday, December 14th at 2:00 p.m. for its only game this week. Next week, they will travel to Cal State Monterey Bay for the last game of the 2024 portion of the 2024-2025 season.
 
LAST WEEK: Stan State went 0-2 last week against tough competition to fall to 2-6 overall and have a 1-2 record in conference. The first game was a 79-62 loss to Cal State Los Angeles, who is receiving votes in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll. Talia Maxwell led the Warriors with 18 points, followed by Da'Myiah Lewis with 14 and Kalyn Harris with 13. The Stan State bench outscored the Golden Eagles' 22-11. The second game was an 81-61 loss to a strong Cal State Dominguez Hills, ranked 12th by the WBCA. Talia Maxwell scored 19 points while Da'Myiah Lewis added 17 and Kalyn Harris chipped in 10. Harris also snagged 11 rebounds along with her 10 points to record the first double-double of her career.
 
WARRIORS IN REVIEW: Stan State's top scorers are Talia Maxwell (141 points) and Da'Myiah Lewis (16.1 points), with Talia Maxwell's 17.4 points per game leading the conference. Lewis takes the lead in rebounds with 61, averaging 4.6 per game. Jadyn Patterson is leading the Warriors in assists with 32. Patterson's 32 assists and 26 turnovers earn her a 1.23 assist to turnover ratio. Patterson also leads in steals with 19, snagging 2.6 balls per game. Talia Maxwell far and away leads in blocks with 21, averaging 2.43 per game.
 
RANKED NCAA/CCAA : With a free throw percentage of 73.3%, the Warriors rank third in the conference. They are also third in blocks per game, averaging 4.4 per game. Talia Maxwell is a big part of that, leading the conference in blocks (21) and blocks per game (2.63). Maxwell's blocks earn her the 10th position in the nation, while her blocks per game are the ninth-best in the nation. In another defensive stat, Da'Myiah Lewis is second in the conference with 5.6 defensive rebounds per game. Jadyn Patterson's 32 assists put her at fourth in the conference while her four assists per game rank second in the conference. Patterson also ranks third in the conference in steals (19) and steals per game (2.38). Talia Maxwell and Da'Myiah Lewis have claimed the one and four spots in the conference in points per game with Maxwell's 17.6 and Lewis's 16.1.
 
BLOCKS BY MAXWELL: Talia Maxwell has recorded 21 blocks this season to lead the team. 16 of those blocks have come in her last four games, and nine of them were recorded last week. Maxwell pairs that with 15 steals, swiping at least one ball in every game this season except for one.
 
HARRIS'S CAREER NIGHTS: Kalyn Harris has put up several personal bests this week. Her 13 points and six field goals made against Cal State Los Angeles were career-highs for her. In the game facing Cal State Dominguez Hills, Harris recorded new career-highs in assists (three) and rebounds (11), along with the first double-double of her career with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
 
DOUBLE-DIGITS FROM LEWIS: Da'Myiah Lewis has scored double-digit points in every game this season, pairing double-digit rebounds with her points twice for two double-doubles this season. Lewis is currently averaging 16.1 points per game and shooting 40.2% from the field.
 
FALCONS IN REVIEW: Seattle Pacific University comes into the match-up 2-9 overall and 0-2 against GNAC opponents. The Falcons generally perform better than their opponents in blocks while coming close to matching them in steals. Grace Leasure and Madison Rubino lead the team with 15 steals each, while Leasure and Schuyler Berry have nine blocks apiece to lead the team. Layne Kearns leads in almost every other category, including points (117, 10.6 per game), field goals made and percentage (42.3%), three pointers made and percentage (40.5%), and rebounds (50, 4.5 per game).
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: Stan State leads the all-time series with Seattle Pacific University 3-0. All three games were close, with the Warriors winning by four or less in each match-up. The teams' last meeting was December 14th, 2023, where Stan State claimed the win 70-66.

UP NEXT: Stan State has one more game on the road before they enjoy their break, heading to Cal State Monterey Bay for a rematch on Saturday, December 21st for a 1:00 p.m. tip off, after Stan State won 69-48 at the Fitzpatrick Arena. The Warriors will return to the Fitz on Thursday, January 2nd for their first of two home games, hosting Cal Poly Humboldt at 5:30 p.m. Chico State will visit on Saturday, January 4th with a 1:00 p.m. tip off.
