TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State outscored the No. 25 Chico State Wildcats 21-9 in the final five minutes including holding them scoreless in the final 106 seconds to key its 73-69 come-from victory. Four Warriors scored in double digits led by
Dontrell Hewlett with 14 points followed by
Jeremiah Jones' 13 points,
Isaiah Jones' career high 11 points, and
Mahda Fallay's 10 points.
FIRST HALF: The beginning of the game between the two valley rivals was even until Isaiah Kerr's lay-up eight minutes in gave Chico State 14-10 lead. Stan State tied the game at 20-20 on a
Jeremiah Jones' jump with 5:14 left in the half. The Wildcats twice in the next two minutes increased their lead to four including on a Miles Daniels' trey (27-23).
Dontrell Hewlett's jumper off a
John Wade III pass capped a 7-0 run by the Warriors as they took a 30-27 lead with less than two minutes on the clock. Chico State (18-6, 13-6 CCAA) finished the half on a 5-0 run of its own to take a 32-30 lead on a Kelvin Wright Jr. jumper off an Evan Oliver assist.
SECOND HALF: Caden Harris' trey capped a 12-2 run by the Wildcats as they took a 44-32 lead just five minutes into the second half.
Tony Singleton's two free throws at the 12:54 mark lead cut the guests' lead o 44-41. Chico State went on a 12-2 run to take a 56-43 lead with 8:30 to go in the game.
Isaiah Jones' three off a pass from
Cam Walker capped a 16-4 run by the hosts as they cut the deficit to 60-59 at the 4:19 mark of the half. Jojo Murphy's three off a Joshua Hamilton pass increased the Wildcat lead to 69-63 with just 1:46 left in regulation. Stan State (7-18, 4-15 CCAA) finished the game on a 10-0 run to take the 73-69 victory. In the final 106 seconds,
Jeremiah Jones scored five points including three on an old-fashioned three-point play, three by
Isaiah Jones, and two by
Jonathan Tchengang.
BATTLE OF THE BOARDS: Stan State won the battle of the boards, 39-25.
Jeremiah Jones had a career high nine rebounds to lead the way.

Jonathan Tchengang each had six rebounds with
John Wade III and
Cheikh Gueye each grabbing five rebounds.
Cam Walker grabbed four boards for Stan State.

THE JONES DID IT: Jeremiah Jones scored 13 points, grabbed a career high nine rebounds, and dished out one assist in 24 minutes off the bench.
Isaiah Jones scored a career high 11 points as he went four-for-five from the field including three-of-four from beyond the arc in 19 minutes off the bench.
UP NEXT: Stan State will have its final road trip of the season this Thursday and Saturday, February 22 and 24. The Warriors will travel to San Bernardino for a 7:30pm scheduled tip-off with Cal State San Bernardino on February 22. Their final road game will be in Pomona at 3pm against Cal Poly Pomona on February 24. Stan State's final game of the regular season will be Thursday, February 29 at 7:30pm on Senior Night against Cal State Monterey Bay.
