SAN FRANCISCO, Calif---  The visiting Stan State Warriors split their CCAA doubleheader with the San Francisco State Gators taking game one 8-7, but falling in the night cap 3-0.  The Warriors pounded out 17 hits in the opener led by Flavio Perez and Alex Solis who went a combined six-for-ten, driving in four runs, scoring two runs, hitting a home run and a double. Austin Balentine picked up the win and Patrick Sweeney recorded the save.

GAME ONE:  Alex Solis hit his fourth home run of the season, a solo shot to begin the game for the Warriors.  SF State tied the game at 1-1 with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
The Warriors took a 3-1 lead in the third inning.  Robert Valdivia had a lead-off single and scored on a one-out double by Kyle Rachels. Stan State took a 3-1 lead on a two-out run scoring single by Flavio Perez

In the Warrior fifth, JD Madrigal had a lead-off walk and went to third on a one-out single by Chris Catalano.  They both scored on a double by Perez as Stan State took a 5-1 lead.  The Warriors added two more runs in their half of the sixth inning.  Ryan
Leonesio and Solis had back-to-back singles to begin the inning.  They advanced a base on a sacrifice by Robert Valdivia.  They scored when Madrigal had a successful suicide squeeze play as the Warriors increased their lead to 7-1.

SF State cut the Warrior lead to 7-5 with a four-run seventh capped by a two-run single by Daniel Santos.  Stan State (14-24-1, 10-20 CCAA) increased its lead to 8-5 with a run in the top of the eighth inning.  Valdivia and Madrigal had back-to-back lead-off singles.  They advanced on Rachels' sacrifice bunt.  Valdivia scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Catalano.

The Gators scored two runs in the eighth to cut the Warrior lead to just 8-7.  SF State had a chance to tie or take the lead in the bottom of the ninth.  Santos had a lead-off walk.  Patrick Sweeney induced the next Gators to fly out to Jacob Baker in center field and Catalano in right.  Then with two outs, the Gator was thrown out at second by Stan State catcher Jerry Nix to preserve the Warrior 8-7 victory.

WARRIOR HITTERS:  The Warriors had 17 hits with six Stan State hitters with multiple hit games.  Flavio Perez went three-for-four with three runs batted in and a double.  Alex Solis was three-for-six with a solo home run and scoring two runs.  Robert Valdivia, Kyle Rachels, Jerry Nix, and Ryan Leonesio each had two hits.
