TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State will look to continue its hot start to the season this weekend when the Warriors host a pair of conference matches. They will entertain Sonoma State this Friday, September 27 and Cal Poly Humboldt this Saturday, September 28. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. at The Fitzpatrick Arena on the campus of Stanislaus State.
2-0 WEEKEND ON THE ROAD IN THE CCAA: Stan State began conference play 2-0 on the road. They defeated Cal State Monterey Bay (25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 25-20) in Seaside on Friday and Cal State East Bay (25-18, 25-9, 20-25, 25-21) in Atherton.
Mariah Iosua led the way for the Warriors with her 34 kills with just six errors in 58 attempts for a .483 hitting percentage. She recorded a career high 27 kills in Stan State's four-set win at Cal State East Bay. The 27 kills are the second most in a match in program history.
Emily Meyer added 16 kills,
Autumn Kirby had 14, and
Christallynn Tate had 10.
Haley Burdo recorded back-to-back double-doubles with a combined 44 assists and 27 digs.
Shaelyn Pruiett added 37 assists.
Gabby Rawson had 35 digs and 19 assists to go with her five service aces. She had her first double-double of the season against Cal State East Bay. Kirby added four service aces and seven total blocks.
STAN STATE IN REVIEW: The Warriors are off to their best start in program history in the NCAA DII ERA. Stan State enters this weekend with a 9-1 record including a 2-0 CCAA record.

Gabby Rawson and Pruiett each have a team high 13 service aces followed by Burdo and
Autumn Kirby each with ten. Rawson has recorded a team leading 136 digs followed by Burdo's 84. Leading the team in total blocks in
Alex Byrd with 44 and Kirby with 39.
CAREER NIGHT: Mariah Iosua recorded 27 kills which ties for second most in a single match in Warrior volleyball history in the NCAA DII ERA. The 27 kills tie her with Blair Ehrlich who recorded 27 kills versus Cal State Monterey Bay in 2013. Chrissy Ford and Lianne Vicchio hold the school record with 28. Her .632 hitting percentage (27 kills with three errors and 38 attempts) is sixth in school history. Teammate,
Alex Byrd, holds the school record with a .715 hitting percentage which set last week versus Menlo, .715 (14-0-18).
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Haley Burdo recorded her second consecutive double-double and third in her last matches this evening in the Warrior win over Cal State East Bay on Saturday. She had 28 assists to go with her 12 digs. This was her 21
st of her career. Burdo had five last season and 13 during the 2022 season.
Gabby Rawson recorded her first double-double of the season in Stan State's on Saturday with 16 digs and 12 assists.
SEAWOLVES: Sonoma State is 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA after splitting its two matches this weekend at home. The Seawolves lost in three sets to No. 14 Cal State Los Angeles (who is the defending NCAA Division II National Champions). They rebounded with a four-set win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. Peyton McBride leads the team with her 93 kills. Jules Tan has a team leading 165 assists while Brynna Slayton has 136. Leading Sonoma in service aces is Slayton with 18 while Meadow Cooper has a team high 77 digs. Emily Hernandez leads Sonoma with her 27 total blocks followed by Jordyn Walte-Ward with 21.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Sonoma State leads the all-time series 26-5 with the Warriors. The two teams split the series last season each winning on their home court. The Warriors swept Sonoma in Turlock on September 23 (25-15, 25-18, 25-22).

Eyriana Eatmon recorded seven service aces. Sonoma State defeated the Warriors in three in Rohnert Park in November (25-22, 25-17, 25-22).

LUMBERJACKS: Cal Poly Humboldt is 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA. The 'Jacks lost in four sets to Cal State Dominguez Hills (20-25, 21-25, 25-15, and 21-25) and defeated No. 14 Cal State Los Angeles in five (25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-12). Awelina Fakalata leads the team with her 16 service aces, 153 kills and .389 hitting percentage. Kyra Slavik has recorded 283 assists to lead the 'Jacks. Sophia Spoja has a team high 138 digs and Allaina Houk leads Humboldt with her 24 total blocks. I
ALL-TIME SERIES: Stan State leads the all-time series with the Lumberjacks 19-12. Humboldt swept the season series last year winning both matches in five sets. In the match in Turlock in September,
Ellison Weaver had 11 kills and
Mariah Iosua had 10 with
Gabby Rawson recording 30 digs and
Haley Burdo adding 34 assists. In the five-set loss in Arcata in November, Weaver had 15 kills, 16 digs, and two service aces. Burdo had 28 assists and 12 digs with Rawson recording 39 digs.
