th straight game scoring in double digits.
Jonathan Tchengang added 11 points for the hosts.

SECOND HALF: Stan State (8-10, 5-7 CCAA) increased its lead to 30-24 in the first two minutes of the second half keyed by a
Jeremiah Jones' trey off a
Jonathan Tchengang assist. Uriah Foster's dunk capped a 10-2 run by the Cougars as they took a 34-32 lead at the 12:43 mark of the second half. Jones' jumper in the pain off a
Jason Cibull pass gave Stan State a 40-39 lead with a little under ten minutes to go in the game. The guests outscored the Warriors 21-6 in the next seven minutes to take a 60-46 lead. A tip-in by Tchengang and a lay-up by Jones cut the Warrior deficit to 60-52 with just 41 seconds left in regulation. Keavie Love went two-for-two from the line for CSUSM to increase the Cougars' lead to 62-52 on their next possession. Once again, Jones cut the Cougar lead to eight (62-54) but the guests finished the game outscored their hosts 4-0 to take the 66-54 victory.
17 STRAIGHT: Jeremiah Jones has scored in double digits in all 17 games he has played in this season for the Warriors. He has scored 20 or more points in seven games including a career high 33 points on Nov. 15, 2024, versus Western Oregon. Jones is averaging a team high 18.8 points per game while shooting 48.6% from the field and 87.5% from the charity stripe.
JUST TWO: Stan State went 12-for-14 from the charity stripe with
Jonathan Tchengang going four-for-four.
Jeremiah Jones was seven-for-eight in his attempts from the line while
Jason Zimmer was one-for-two.
JUST SEVEN TURNOVERS: The Warriors had just seven turnovers this afternoon while forcing 13 by the Cougars including seven by steals (two by
Cameron Walker). They had ten assists on the 19 baskets they made with the duo of
Lloyd French and
Cameron Walker each dishing out three. Four Warriors had one assist apiece in
Jonathan Tchengang,
Jason Cibull,
Mahda Fallay, and
Jordan Smith.
FIVE-WAY TIE FOR FIFTH PLACE: After going 1-1 to begin their four-game home stand, the Warriors are in a five-way tie for fifth place in the CCAA with their conference record with Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State East Bay, Cal State Los Angeles, and San Francisco State. They are just one game out of fourth place (Cal Poly Humboldt, 6-6), and three games out of third place (Cal State San Bernardino, 8-4) heading into the second half of the CCAA season.
SECOND HALF: Stan State will continue its four-game home stand this coming week hosting Cal State East Bay (Thurs., Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m.) and San Francisco State (Sat., Feb. 1 at 3:00 p.m.). This will be the beginning of the second half of the CCAA season. Of the final ten games of the regular season for the Warriors, six of them will be at The Fitz.
