TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State played Cal State San Marcos this afternoon, falling short 69-52.
Daja Scott-Mitchell led the Warriors in scoring with 18 points, followed by
Da'Myiah Lewis with 13 points.
FIRST QUARTER: Stan State (4-14, 3-9 CCAA) claimed the jumpball and the first points of the game off a layup from
Daja Scott-Mitchell. The Warriors remained in the lead, rebutting the Cougars' offence with buckets of their own. Though Cal State San Marcos tied it with a minute to go, a pair of free throws from
Da'Myiah Lewis gave the Warriors the lead 20-18 at the end of the period.

SECOND QUARTER: The Cougars (3-14, 3-8 CCAA) immediately evened things up, then
Daja Scott-Mitchell drained a three to give the Warriors back the lead. Cal State San Marcos found an opening for a six-point run answered by a layup from the Warriors. Both teams battled, with San Marcos leading 43-35 going into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER: The third quarter proved difficult for both sides. The Warriors held the Cougars to just 23.8% shooting, but only managed free throws themselves. Cal State San Marcos sounded the final note in the period with a layup, leading into the last quarter 53-38.

FOURTH QUARTER: Cal State San Marcos made a quick break to securing victory with four points early in the quarter. The Warriors' scoring pressure was not enough to deter the Cougars who continued to sink shots in response to Stan State scoring. The Cougars closed up the game 69-52.
DOUBLES-DOUBLES: Daja Scott-Mitchell dropped 18 points and snagged 14 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.
Da'Myiah Lewis also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, earning her sixth double-doubles of the season and eighth of her career.
