TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State finished the weekend 1-1 after a 76-62 loss to the visiting Chico State Wildcats at The Fitz this afternoon.

FIRST HALF: Chico State took an 18-5 lead in the first seven minutes of the game.
Jeremiah Jones' lay-up capped a 11-0 run by the Warriors as they cut the deficit to 18-16 with 8:34 left in the half. SECOND HALF: The Wildcats outscored Stan State 24-11 in the first twelve minutes of the second half to increase Chico State's lead to 64-45. A three by Jojo Murphy increased Chico State's (10-2, 6-0 CCAA) lead to 70-50 with just four minutes left in regulation. Stan State outscored its guests 12-6 to end the game to make the final Chico State 76-62.
ELEVENTH STRAIGHT: Jeremiah Jones scored 18 points this evening for his twelfth straight game scoring in double digits for the Warriors. Jones was eight-for-18 from the field and two-for-two from the line. He added six rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 36 minutes. For the season, Jones is averaging 18.4 points per game while shooting 50.6% from the field.

CIBULL WEEKEND: Jason Cibull finished the weekend to begin the New Year averaging 14.0 points, 4.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 rebounds for the Warriors. He shot 50% from the field including 46.7% from three-point land and was a perfect three-for-three from the line. This afternoon, the junior transfer scored 11 points off the bench and dished out a season high five assists while recording a season high five steals.
UP NEXT: Stan State returns to the court this Thursday, January 9 as the Warriors begin a four-game road trip. The Warriors will face San Francisco State at 7:30 p.m. in San Francisco on Thursday, January 9. The road trip will continue in the Bay Area a week from tonight in Hayward, Calif., as the Warriors face Cal State East Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 11. Stan State will finish its four-game road trip on Thursday, January 16 at No. 23 Cal State San Bernardino and at No. 25 Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, January 23. The Warriors will return home Thursday, January 23 at 7:30 pm., when they face Sonoma State at The Fitz.
