No. 1 Warriors Clinch First CCAA Tournament Berth Since 2015 With 4–1 Win at Cal State Monterey Bay

SEASIDE, Calif.---The No. 1 Stanislaus State men's soccer team continued its dominant run Sunday morning, defeating Cal State Monterey Bay 4–1 at Cardinale Stadium to clinch the program's first CCAA Soccer Championship Tournament berth since 2015. With the victory, the Warriors improved to 13-0-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the CCAA while extending their unbeaten streak to 14 matches and remaining perfect on the road at 7-0 this season.

First Half
Playing at the same site that will host next month's CCAA Championship Tournament, the Warriors had to respond after falling behind early. Cal State Monterey Bay struck first in the 16th minute, but Stanislaus State answered eight minutes later when Christian Brenes buried a shot off a setup from Landon Leal Ruiz to even the score at 1–1. Angel Ruiz-Hernandez made a pair of key first-half saves to keep the match tied heading into halftime.

Second Half
The Warriors took control after halftime, exploding for three goals to put the match away. In the 67th minute, Emmanuel Duran netted the game-winner—his second of the season and seventh overall—off assists from Leal Ruiz and Gerardo Flores. Adrian Yepez added his second goal of the year in the 82nd minute, assisted by Sebastian Carbajal, before Alexis Cervantes capped the scoring in the 87th minute from a Flores assist. Stan State dominated the second half with a 15–5 shot advantage, while Ruiz-Hernandez finished with five saves to secure the Warriors' seventh conference victory.

Warrior Notables CCAA Soccer Championship Tournament
The six-team CCAA Soccer Championship Tournament begins with first-round matches on Sunday, Nov. 9, at the site of the higher seeds. The semifinals and finals will be played at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside—Sunday's match site—Friday through Sunday, Nov. 14–16. The top two seeds receive a first-round bye, and the tournament champion earns the CCAA's automatic berth to the NCAA Championships.
