ATHERTON, Calif.--- A dominant first half and balanced scoring effort powered the Stanislaus State men's basketball team to its second straight win Wednesday night, a 78–74 road victory over Menlo College. Four players scored in double figures for the Warriors, led by
Malachi Johnson's 18 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.
Donjae Lindsey and
Jason Zimmer each added 17 points, while
Daniel Ameyaw finished with 16 and seven rebounds.
First Half
Stan State was in full control early, using a 26–7 run midway through the period to break the game open. The Warriors shot 51 percent from the field and 47 percent from three-point range before the break, building a 49–24 halftime lead while holding Menlo to just nine field goals. Zimmer fueled the surge with five first-half three-pointers, and Johnson and Lindsey combined for 21 points in the opening frame. Ameyaw dominated the interior with 10 points and four rebounds, helping Stan State outscore Menlo 24–12 in the paint.
Second Half
Menlo rallied after halftime, scoring 50 second-half points to pull within four in the closing seconds, but Stan State held strong at the free-throw line to secure the win. The Warriors went a perfect 6-for-6 from the line in the final minute, including clutch makes from Johnson and
Jason Cibull to seal the game. Lindsey matched his season high with 17 points, Zimmer knocked down five threes for his season-best 17, and Ameyaw added 16 points and seven rebounds.
Stan State shot 51 percent overall, 47 percent from beyond the arc, and 77 percent from the line while converting 19 points off 14 Menlo turnovers and scoring 40 points in the paint.

Stan State (2–1) continues its Bay Area road swing on Saturday, visiting Dominican University for a 3:30 p.m. match-up in San Rafael. The Penguins (3–0) remained unbeaten Wednesday night after a road win over Cal Maritime. The Warriors will then return home to open their 2025–26 home schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 26, hosting Saint Martin's University at 5 p.m. inside Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena for Schedule Poster Night.
