Historic Fall Continues as Warriors Shine on National Stage
The postseason stage brought historic performances from Stanislaus State Athletics as both the men's soccer and women's cross country teams achieved new milestones. The No. 3-ranked men's soccer squad advanced to the NCAA Division II Third Round for the first time in program history with a decisive 2–0 victory over Hawai'i Hilo, while the No. 22-ranked women's cross country team capped its season with a 12th-place national finish — matching the best in school history — highlighted by an All-America run from junior standout Annie Wild. The pair of achievements underscored a record-setting fall season that has placed Stan State among the nation's elite programs.

Men's Soccer Begins NCAA Tournament with 2–0 Second Round Win
The No. 3-ranked Stanislaus State men's soccer team began its NCAA postseason with a 2–0 victory over Hawai'i Hilo in the Division II Super Region IV Second Round. Emmanuel Duran opened the scoring on an assist from Jose Ponce and Samuel Villanueva, and Sebastian Carbajal added an insurance goal later in the match with Villanueva providing his second assist of the day. With those two helpers, Villanueva set and extended the program's all-time assists record to 17, making him the career assists leader in Stanislaus State men's soccer history. The Warriors' defense recorded its 12th shutout of the season as they advanced to the NCAA Division II Third Round for the first time in school history. Stan State will host No. 8 Midwestern State on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m. in Turlock, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Championship Quarterfinal Round on Dec. 5 or 6.

Wild Leads Women's Cross Country to Historic Finish
The No. 22-ranked Stan State women's cross country team concluded its 2025 campaign with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin — matching the best team performance in program history. Junior Annie Wild earned All-America honors after placing 24th overall in 20:52.3, becoming the fourth All-American in Stan State women's cross country history. Wild's success capped a decorated year that included an NCAA indoor national title in the mile and outdoor All-America honors in the 1,500 meters, firmly establishing her among the most accomplished runners in school history.

Men's Basketball Extends Win Streak to Three
Stanislaus State men's basketball improved to 3–1 overall after earning back-to-back road wins, defeating Menlo 78–74 on Nov. 19 and Dominican 93–89 on Nov. 22. Jason Zimmer added offensive spark from deep, connecting on 60 percent of his three-point attempts (12-for-20) through the first four contests. Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week: Samuel Villanueva & Annie Wild
Two Warriors who reached historic milestones on the national stage have been named this week's Donna Pierce Warriors of the Week — men's soccer defender Samuel Villanueva and women's cross country standout Annie Wild.

#17 Samuel VillanuevaVillanueva, a senior defender, was instrumental in leading the No. 3-ranked Stan State men's soccer team to a 2–0 victory over Hawai'i Hilo in the NCAA Division II Super Region IV Second Round. He assisted on both goals in the win, breaking the program's all-time career assists record with his 16th on the opening goal and extending it to 17 on the second. Villanueva's performance helped the Warriors advance to the NCAA Super Region IV Third Round for the first time in program history; the team's previous deepest run came in 2012, when Stan State reached the second round. He also anchored a defense that posted its 12th shutout of the season and now stands alone as the career assists leader in Stanislaus State men's soccer history.

Annie WildWild capped off an extraordinary year for the No. 22-ranked Stan State women's cross country team with a historic All-America performance at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The junior standout finished 24th overall in 20:52.3 to earn All-America honors — becoming just the fourth All-American in program history — and led the Warriors to a 12th-place team finish, matching the best in school history. Wild's success at nationals capped a remarkable 2025 campaign in which she also earned NCAA Division II Indoor National Champion honors in the mile and Outdoor All-America honors in the 1,500 meters, firmly establishing her as one of the most decorated distance runners in Stan State history.
