TURLOCK, Calif. – Stanislaus State had three players finish in double figures and received 24 points from its bench on Wednesday night inside Fitzpatrick Arena, but Saint Martin's shot 49 percent from the field to secure the win. The result snaps Stan State's three-game winning streak, moving the Warriors to 3-2 overall, while Saint Martin's improves to 4-2.
First Half
Stan State opened the game with early baskets from
Daniel Ameyaw, who scored the Warriors' first four points and later added a second-chance finish.
Malachi Johnson connected on a three-pointer to give Stan State a brief 5–4 lead, and
Jason Zimmer hit four straight free throws to help keep the Warriors within reach.
Jason Cibull provided a lift in the opening half, knocking down three three-pointers and adding two free throws to total 11 first-half points. The bench contributed 15 points before the break, and Stan State totaled seven assists and five second-chance points.
Saint Martin's countered with a strong shooting performance, hitting 50 percent from the field and nine threes in the first half to take a 49–30 lead into the break.
Second Half
Stan State continued to compete after halftime with steady contributions from multiple players.
Malachi Johnson added seven second-half points, including a pair of free throws and a jumper, while Ameyaw scored four more to finish with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Cibull added two free throws in the second half to complete his 13-point performance.
Mark Jones III and
Samuel Chavarin each added baskets off the bench, and Stan State was perfect at the line after halftime, going 6-for-6 and finishing 13-for-14 overall.
Saint Martin's stayed consistent from the perimeter, hitting six more threes in the second half to maintain control down the stretch.
