CCAA Basketball Begins; Indoor Track & Field Opens 2025–26 Campaign
The winter sports season is in full swing at Stanislaus State as the Warriors prepare for the start of CCAA basketball play and the launch of the 2025–26 women's indoor track & field campaign. Both basketball teams open conference action on the road this week, visiting Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday before heading to Chico State on Saturday. Meanwhile, the women's indoor track & field squad travels to Reno for the Silver State Invitational, set for Friday–Saturday, Dec. 5–6, giving Warrior Athletics a busy and exciting start to December.

Warriors Head into CCAA Season 4-2
Stanislaus State Men's Basketball wrapped up Thanksgiving week with a 105–43 home win over Cal Maritime on Nov. 29, improving to 4-2 overall heading into CCAA play. The Warriors split their two home games during the week, falling to Saint Martin's on Nov. 26 before responding with their most complete performance of the season against Cal Maritime. Through six games, Stan State is averaging 77.5 points per game while outscoring opponents by nearly six points per contest, shooting 45.3 percent from the field and holding a +4.2 rebounding margin. Donjae Lindsey leads the Warriors with 14.5 points per game on 59.2 percent shooting, while Daniel Ameyaw continues to anchor the paint with 11.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest. Jason Zimmer (10.2 ppg, .560 3FG%) and Lloyd French (9.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg) have also delivered strong early-season production. With four wins in their last five outings, Stan State enters December with confidence and momentum as CCAA play begins.

Men's Soccer Wraps 17–2–1 Season in NCAA Sweet Sixteen
Stanislaus State Men's Soccer closed its historic 17–2–1 season with a 2–0 loss to No. 8 Midwestern State in Sunday's NCAA Sweet Sixteen. The Warriors generated seven shots but couldn't break through, while goalkeeper Angel Ruiz-Hernandez made four saves in the defeat. Stan State's season included its first-ever CCAA Tournament championship, a 12-match unbeaten streak, and a 44–11 goal differential. Gerardo Flores (9 goals, 24 points), Emmanuel Duran (10 goals, 23 points), and Samuel Villanueva—who set single-season and career assist records with 13 and 17—powered an attack that ranked among the nation's best. Ruiz-Hernandez finished the year with a 0.55 goals-against average and 11.5 shutouts, the most in a single season in program history.

Women's Indoor Track & Field Set to Open 2025-26 Season
Stanislaus State Women's Indoor Track & Field opens its 2025-26 season this weekend at the Silver State Invitational on Dec. 5–6 in Reno. The schedule includes the Nevada Invitational (Jan. 16–17), UW Invite (Jan. 30–31), Wolf Pack Classic (Feb. 6–7), Husky Classic (Feb. 13–14), Battle Born Classic (Feb. 13–14), and the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on March 12–14 in Virginia Beach. Along with All-American Annie Wild beginning her defense of the national title in the mile, the Warriors return strength and depth across all event groups — including a promising throws squad, a developing jumps unit, and a talented group of hurdlers poised to make an early-season impact. With experienced sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, throwers, and distance runners all back in action, Stan State enters the indoor season with a balanced roster ready to build on last year's strong postseason showing.

Women's Basketball Prepares for CCAA Play
Stanislaus State Women's Basketball enters CCAA play this week at 1-2 following a competitive non-conference start to the 2025-26 season that included a neutral-site win over Bushnell and road contests at Jessup and Fresno Pacific. Eryn Gardner leads the Warriors at 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 48 percent from the floor. MilaSarai Tau is averaging 11.0 points per game, and Alyssa Premo and Karissa Hukill are each providing 9.0 per outing. As a team, Stan State is posting 59.3 points and 35.7 boards per game while forcing opponents into more than 19 turnovers per contest. The Warriors now look to carry their defensive intensity and developing offensive rhythm into CCAA play.

Four Warriors Earn D2CCA All-West Region First Team Honors
Stanislaus State Soccer collected four D2CCA All-West Region First Team selections this week, with women's standout Aliah Avila earning her second straight honor after leading the Warriors in assists and helping guide the program to its sixth consecutive postseason appearance. Three men's players — Gerardo Flores, Samuel Villanueva and Angel Ruiz-Hernandez — were also recognized following a dominant 17-2-1 season that included the CCAA Tournament championship and the program's first NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance.

Wild Earns USTFCCCA All-America Honors
Stanislaus State junior Annie Wild was named a USTFCCCA All-American after finishing 24th at the 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Nov. 22 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, becoming just the fourth All-American in Stan State women's cross country history. Wild ran 20:52.3 over the 6K course to lead the Warriors to a 12th-place team finish — matching the best national result in program history. Her performance capped an exceptional year that included an NCAA Division II Indoor national title in the mile and Outdoor All-America honors in the 1,500 meters, solidifying her place among the most accomplished distance runners in program history as she now turns her focus to defending her mile national title during the upcoming indoor season.

Bomarito Named CalHOPE Courage Award Honoree
Stanislaus State women's cross country junior Gianna Bomarito has been named the CalHOPE Courage Award honoree for October, recognized for her exceptional resilience in overcoming significant adversity. A former standout at Sonoma State, Bomarito battled through a rare autoimmune neurological condition (ADEM), the loss of her mother, and the dissolution of Sonoma State's athletics program before rebuilding her career at Stan State. She will be formally presented with the CalHOPE Courage Award on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. in South Dining on campus, where teammate Annie Wild will also receive her national championship ring for last year's NCAA Division II indoor mile title. The honor includes a $1,000 mental-health support donation and a video feature across CalHOPE platforms.

Seven Warriors Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors
Stanislaus State Soccer also excelled in the classroom this week, with seven Warriors named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District Team. Women's soccer honorees included Aliah Avila, Makeila Yancey, Grace Fabionar, Katie Smith and Olivia Kamm, who all played key roles in guiding the Warriors to their sixth straight postseason berth and fourth CCAA Tournament semifinal in five years. On the men's side, senior defender Samuel Villanueva and midfielder Adrian Yepez were recognized after helping lead Stan State to a historic 17-1-1 campaign, the CCAA Tournament title, and the program's first NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen appearance. All seven honorees advance to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America consideration, with selections set to be announced in mid-December.

Pruiett Earns CCAA Volleyball All-Tournament Honors
