Warriors Fall to Undefeated No.3 Toros

TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State was visited by No.3 Cal State Dominguez Hills tonight. The Toros continued their winning ways, claiming the win 93-54. Da'Myiah Lewis led the way for the Warriors, scoring 25 points, followed by Amya Vangkham-Griffin with 12 points.

FIRST QUARTER: Despite Cal State Dominguez Hills (25-0, 17-0 CCAA) scoring the first four points, the Warriors quickly equalized. Amya Vangkham-Griffin dropped a three to give Stan State the lead. The Toros responded not long after, but the lead continued to be traded. Cal State Dominguez Hills took the lead at the end of the first quarter 20-18.
 
SECOND QUARTER: Stan State (5-18, 4-13 CCAA) got off to a slow start in the second quarter with the Toros going on a 11-point run in the first part of the quarter. The Warriors tried to stall their progress, but Cal State Dominguez Hills refused to be stopped, finishing the half ahead 49-30.

THIRD QUARTER: The Toros kept up the pressure going into the second half, extending their lead with another 11-point run. The Warriors chipped away at the lead but could not quite find their footing. Cal State Dominguez Hills continued to lead 67-42.
 
FOURTH QUARTER: Cal State Dominguez Hills continued to run the show with a quick five points to start the final quarter. The Warriors found a pair of opportunities, but the Toros did not slow their offense. They claimed the period and the game 93-54.

FROM THE LINE: Da'Myiah Lewis went eight-for-eight in free throws tonight. Lewis is currently shooting 75.5% in free throws, which currently ranks her fifth in the conference.
 
DOUBLE-DIGITS FOR VANGKHAM-GRIFFIN: In four of her last five games, freshman Amya Vangkham-Griffin has scored double-digits. With her 12 points in tonight's game, Vangkham-Griffin has now earned 100 points as a Warrior.
