Stan State Travels for Final Regular Season Road Games Versus Cougars and Seawolves

TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State travels for their last two road games to Cal State San Marcos and Sonoma State this week, heading to San Marcos, Calif. on Thursday, February 20th for a 5:30 p.m. game. Sonoma State will face off against the Warriors on Saturday, February 22nd for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. The Cougars took the win at the Fitzpatrick Arena on January 5th of this year 69-52. The Seawolves came to Turlock, Calif., earning a victory 71-56 over Stan State.
 
LAST WEEK: The Warriors hosted No.3 Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State Los Angeles this week at the Fitz. The Toroz continued their undefeated streak with a 93-54 win over Stan State. Da'Myiah Lewis was just short of a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds, adding two steals and three assists to her totals. Amya Vangkham-Griffin recorded another double-digit night with 12 points, three rebounds, and an assist.
 
The Golden Eagles managed to claim the victory in overtime 84-80. Amya Vangkham-Griffin earned a new career high with 23 points. Quinn Garrett earned a career high of her own with 16 points, with Jadyn Patterson putting up 14 points and Da'Myiah Lewis scoring 12. The Warriors snagged 41 rebounds while Krista Andersen recorded seven blocks to aid the team in the nailbiter.
 
WARRIORS IN REVIEW: Stan State (5-19, 4-14 CCAA) are scoring 58.4 points per game while giving up 73.2 points to opponents. Da'Myiah Lewis is the team leader in points with 16.2 points per game. Lewis now also leads in rebounds (8.7 per game), assists (two per game), and steals (1.6 per game). Krista Andersen is the leader in blocks, averaging 1.2 per game.
 
NCAA RANKINGS: Da'Myiah Lewis is in the top 50 in two categories in NCAA Division II. Lewis ranks 47th in double-doubles with eight and 30th in free throws with 108.  
 
CCAA RANKINGS: Da'Myiah Lewis is in the top five in several statistical categories within the conference. Krista Andersen has also secured a spot at fifth in the conference in blocks with 26 and blocks per game with 1.18. Lewis is fifth in free throw percentage (75.5); fourth in points (373); third in points per game (16.2) and defensive rebounds per game (six); second in double-doubles (eight), total rebounds (199), and rebounds per game (6.7); and first in free throws (108).
 
FRESHMAN CAREER HIGHS: Amya Vangkham-Griffin has created new career highs in points and rebounds versus Cal State Los Angeles with 23 points and seven rebounds. Quinn Garrett recorded new career highs in points with 16 versus Cal State Los Angeles, in which she shot a perfect 100% in free throws, field goals, and three pointers.
BIG BLOCKS: Krista Andersen recorded a career high seven blocks versus Cal State Los Angeles. Andersen now has a team leading 26 blocks, putting her at fifth in the conference in total blocks.
 
FEELING 100: Quinn Garrett has now hit 100 points as a Warrior after this weekend's games. Garrett joins fellow freshman Amya-Vangkham Griffin and junior transfer Alyssa Premo with 100 points this season as a newcomer. Senior transfer Daja Scott-Mitchell is just four points shy of 200 points this season.
 
COUGARS IN REVIEW: As a team, Cal State San Marcos (5-18, 5-12 CCAA) are scoring 59.9 points while giving up 67.7 points to opponents. Rory Hetrick is the leading scorer with 12.2 points per game and leads in steals with 2.1 per game. Destiny Okonkwo snags the most rebounds (7.8 per game) and blocks the most shots (1.3 per game). Rose Morse has the most assists on the team with 2.4 per game.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: Dating back to 2016, Cal State San Marcos leads the all-time series with Stan State 9-6. In their last meeting on January 25th of this year, the Cougars took the win 69-52 despite Daja Scott-Mitchell recording a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds and Da'Myiah Lewis also earning a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
 
SEAWOLVES IN REVIEW: Sonoma State is currently 11-12 overall and 9-8 in conference. The Seawolves will face Cal State Monterey Bay before hosting Stan State. They are toe-to-toe with their opponents, scoring 59.4 points while allowing 60.3 points on average. Alysa Lopez leads the team in scoring with 14 points per game. Eryn Gardener is averaging 5.5 rebounds to lead the team while Abby Hadsell is the team leader in blocks at 0.8 per game. Jayme Blackard is leading in assists with 2.4 per game and is also leading in steals with two per game.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Seawolves lead the all-time series 26-18 dating back to 2001. Sonoma State took the win over Stan State 71-56 earlier this season on January 23rd. Daja Scott Mitchell recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Da'Myiah Lewis put up 17 points and Amya Vangkham-Griffin scored 10 points.
