TURLOCK, Calif.--- The Warriors faced Cal State San Marcos this evening, dropping the game 60-46.
Tia Barefield led the Warriors with 13 points and two rebounds.
Krista Andersen recorded eight points, three rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
FIRST QUARTER: Cal State San Marcos (6-19, 6-13 CCAA) reminded the Warriors that they are playing on Cougar territory with a 10-point run to start off the game. A jumper from
Quinn Garrett put Stan State on the board and they were able to cut the Cougar's lead. Cal State San Marcos dropped seven more points and Stan State struggled to retaliate, finishing the first quarter behind 21-11.

SECOND QUARTER: Stan State (5-20, 4-15 CCAA) scored six points early in the second period to bring the score within four. The score came tied, but Cal State San Marcos managed to pull away again. The Warriors kept them within four at the end of the half with the Cougars leading 29-25.
THIRD QUARTER: Although they opened with a shot in the paint
, the Cougars lead dwindled to two after a jumper by
Jadyn Patterson and free throws from
Alyssa Premo. Cal State San Marcos was not deterred and extended their lead back to 10 with an eight-point run. Stan State chipped in three to finish the quarter behind 39-32.

FOURTH QUARTER: The Cougars brought their lead up back to 10 twice in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter. Stan State found its opportunity in the middle of the period with a six-point run to be within three. Cal State San Marcos made their way back up to a 10-point lead however, and the Warriors could not cut it down again. The Cougars took the quarter and game 60-46.

CAREER HIGH FOR BAREFIELD: Tia Barefield recorded a new career high in tonight's game with her 13 points. Barefield went five-for-seven in field goals and three-for-four beyond the arch.

NABBED: The Warriors snagged 12 steals as a team tonight, with
Jadyn Patterson leading with four.
Alyssa Premo tied a career high with three steals and Krista Anderson earned a new career high with three of her own.

SOLID DEFENSE: With eight rebounds,
Alyssa Premo recorded a new career high in rebounds tonight. All eight of her rebounds were defensive, adding to the team's 37 total rebounds.
