TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State traveled to face No.14 Cal State San Marcos today, falling in the first game 6-2 and narrowly missing a comeback in the second game 5-4.
GAME 1: Cal State San Marcos (12-1, 2-0 CCAA) earned five runs in the first inning off a single that scored two and a three-run homer.

Stan State (3-9, 0-2 CCAA) got two runs of their own in the second inning.
Bree Barner was hit by a pitch to get on base, then moved over to second by a sacrifice bunt from
Marissa Cerda.
Lauryn Serda singled to score Barner. A pair of singles by
Malia Babasa and
Katie Thornsberry allowed Cerda cross the plate for the Warriors' second run.

The Cougars extended their lead in the bottom of the second with a run scored on an error. Â
GAME 2:Â The second game was quiet until Cal State San Marcos found their opportunity in the fourth inning with a two-run home run.

The Warriors rallied in the top of the seventh beginning with a double by
Allejandra Perea.
McKenna Beach was hit by a pitch putting two on.
Sarah Warden reached on a bunt single to load the bases and
Moxie Barton came in to pinch run for Warden.
Lauryn Serda grounded out, allowing Perea to score and the runners to move up.
Madison Rosebrough got a walk to load the bases once again.
Shelby Frutoz came in to pinch hit and was hit by a pitch to score
McKenna Beach.
Malia Babasa singled to score
Moxie Barton, giving Stan State a 3-2 lead.
Katie Thornsberry walked to score Rosebrough to extend the lead 4-2.

The Coyotes walked it off in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of walks and singles to take the win 5-4.
THORSNBERRY:Â Katie Thornsberry went two-for-five tonight with two walks, stolen base, and a run batted in. Thornsberry has reached base in all twelve of the Warriors' games this season.

BABASA: Malia Babasa had another solid outing, going three-for-seven with a walk and a run batted in. Babasa has extended her hitting streak to four games and has now had four multi-hit games.

ALACRON: Victoria Alacron pitched four scoreless innings before Cal State San Bernardino's offense came to life, recording four strikeouts in twenty-four at bats.
